>𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬! India will be the first country since 1970 to make flagship Ranger Rover and Range Rover Sport cars outside UK. The move comes after the retail sales in India grew by 81%. JLR India has been making Range Rover Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE, and Discovery Sport at its Pune facility already. - How will it happen? JLR India will be importing CKD (completely knocked down) units from UK and assembling them in India. CKD units are unassembled parts of the car which are assembled in the country which imports them. - What impact will this have? 1. This step by the JLR India will reduce the price of the respective cars by 18-22%, which according to Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India will help them capture the market which they were previously not able to. 2. The waiting period for the models will also come down from 7-9 months also. This bodes well for both company and the customers. The move is a part of company's goal of doubling its sales in next three years in India. It would be interesting to see how this will impact Tata Motors' revenue and and margins as around 65% revenue Tata generates comes from JLR. P.S. - This is my 4th day covering auto sector and passenger vehicle segment in particular. #india #finance #equitymarkets

Tata has been importing Jaguar Land Rover cars into India from British factories, either as complete cars or in parts assembled in Pune. Now, they're expanding their assembly facility in Pune and setting up a complete manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, with a hefty investment of $1 billion USD. This new assembly plant will boost capacity by 50% and lower car prices in the Indian market. This move gains significance as the company prepares to enter the electric vehicle (EV) arena from next year. With this expansion, JLR aims to better compete in the rapidly evolving luxury electric vehicle market, which currently holds a rough penetration rate of 25-30%. Do you think JLR's entry into the EV space comes too late? #tata #jaguar #car #ev #india

Price of the 'flagship' Range Rover model to go down by 56L as a result of local assembly at Tata Motors' Pune plant. While still remaining in the 1.5+ Cr category (JLR anticipates this segment to grow by 50% upto 100,000 units annually by 2029) - a category dominated by Mercedes Benz with near 50% market share. Close on the heels of becoming the Tata Group's most profitable company, this is a big move by Tata Motors to gain market share in the burgeoning luxury car category in India and further boost their bottom-line. An image boost to reliable & quality Indian manufacturing & assembly could be an added boon to the sector at large and the Indian manufacturing industry in general. #TataStories #TataMotors #JLR #RangeRover #luxurycars #autoindustry #local #manufacturing #assembly #MakeInIndia

Tata Motors to use new $1bn plant to make Jaguar Land Rover cars in India! 🚘 🇮🇳 Tata Motors, an Indian car company, is planning to build a new $1 billion factory in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. They will make luxury cars from their Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand there. This is a big deal because it's the first time JLR cars will be made completely in India. These cars will be sold in India and also sent to other countries. Tata Motors decided to build this new factory because they want to make more cars and meet the demand for luxury cars in India. Right now, JLR cars sold in India are either brought from Britain or put together from parts brought from other countries at a factory near Pune. This move will help Tata Motors become even stronger in the Indian car market, especially in the luxury car part. They have competition from brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Tata Motors wants to use the growing interest in luxury things and the success of JLR around the world to sell more cars. Last year, JLR sold 22% more cars than before. #TataMotors #JaguarLandRover #LuxuryCars #ManufacturingExpansion #IndianAutomotive #TamilNadu #GlobalMarketExpansion

In 1998, when Tata Motors launched its first passenger car, the Tata Indica, it was met with criticism and commercial failure. Many suggested shutting down the car division. However, Ratan Tata had a different vision. Instead of backing down, he stood by the team, convinced that India's first indigenous car had potential. His persistence paid off when Indica’s second version became a success, marking Tata Motors' presence in the automobile industry. Years later, the Tata Nano was launched with a mission to provide an affordable car to millions of Indian families. Later Tata Motors acquired the struggling Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) from Ford in 2008, many doubted the decision again. Critics believed Tata Motors lacked the expertise to manage luxury brands. However, Ratan Tata believed in the potential of JLR and his team. Under Tata’s leadership, JLR flourished and became one of the key assets in the Tata portfolio. This story shows the importance of believing in long-term value, the power of perseverance and believing in your vision, even when the odds are against you. Someway or other every Indian have used a Tata product. Remembering the SteelMan Ratan Tata. #RatanTata #entreprenuership #RIP #inspiration #india #TataMotors #tata

Good Morning Monday!!!!!!!!!!!! *Two interesting facts on Indian car sales and the year gone by: First and foremost:* 1. For the first time in nearly four decades, a car from the stable of Maruti Suzuki is not a top-seller. Tata’s diminutive mini SUV, the Punch, sold the most cars in 2024, and was the No 1 car model. 2. Electric car sales grew by 20% in India in 2024, but still are just 2.4% of overall passenger vehicle retails. The growth in EV volumes was also led by discounts and price cuts, amidst doubts in consumers about the practicality of the green vehicles. Interestingly, Tata Motors also leads the EV category too. *There will be a series of electric car launches in India this year and it will be interesting to see how the market moves from here.* #Automobile #tatamotors #Evsales #Growth
