A Milestone in Plasma Diagnostics! Excited to share our latest article in Plasma Sources Science and Technology: "Precision spectroscopy of non-thermal molecular plasmas using mid-infrared optical frequency comb Fourier transform spectroscopy." Using mid-infrared comb spectroscopy, we measured state-resolved spectra of multiple plasma-generated species. Our focus on hydrogen cyanide revealed highly non-thermal quantum-state distributions with distinct rotational and translational temperatures. This may suggest diverse energy relaxation pathways and state-specific formation routes of hydrogen cyanide within non-thermal plasmas, which are important for industrial applications! Researchers have developed soft polymeric microrobots for diverse applications like microscale assembly, targeted therapeutics, microsurgery, and wastewater cleanup. Operating these microrobots in aquatic environments faces challenges due to viscous resistances and limited actuation and sensing capabilities. To overcome this, a study introduces magnetized microrobots with artificial cilia for stable acoustic propulsion and magnetic field-guided navigation. This acousto-magnetic strategy leverages precise magnetic orientation and strong acoustic thrust, addressing the hurdles of untethered manipulation in microscale environments.
