If being a Partner or General Partner is the ultimate goal for most investment professionals, we'd have expected much more clarity on how to get there. Our survey clearly revealed that this clear path (with signboards and sidewalk lighting) doesn't exist. More in the report on how women investors are currently navigating this, and what could be done differently.
❓Do you know what it takes to become a #Partner at a fund? 🤔 ❔Do you know how #women investors navigate this? ❓And, do you know what they are missing on the ‘#Path to #Partnership?’ In an industry-first, we did a deep-dive and found that there is poor visibility on the ‘Path to Partnership’. ⚠️ Let us explain⬇️ In the 2nd edition of our biennial report, ‘The WII Career Goals Index 2024’ by the Women in Investing Network in Investing, we anonymously surveyed 118 community members across varying levels of seniority. We asked our respondents: ❓Has your firm shared information on what are the expectations/ metrics for growing within the firm/ reaching partner? Our survey found that ⬇️ 👉🏼Across all levels of seniority, only 25% of investment professionals have clearly articulated & measured goals. 👉🏼>50% are operating on implicitly understood goals. 👉🏼Over 20% of respondents have no clarity on what is expected of them to grow in their careers, especially at the Principal level. 👉🏼While the path from analyst to Principal is well-known and mostly linear, there is a significant shift in skills and expectations as Principals become Partners. 📖 👓Read the full report➡️ https://shorturl.at/ZQuZp Find the first edition (2022) here➡️ https://lnkd.in/gbdHS5Ym Maya Chandrasekaran Jayaroopa Jeyabarathi Sheeba D'Mello Sipika Nigam Sapna Goyal Lavanya Ashok Navjot Kaur Ragini Bajaj Chaudhary Anjali Sosale Pranali Mehta WaterBridge Ventures Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) Impact Investors Council (IIC) 2X Global British International Investment Winpe #womeninvestors #women #womeninfinance #womenininvesting #report #privateinvestors
