We help the skilled trades to stop chasing what they need. We simply fetch it for them | Co-founder CEO of Toolfetch
No college = no career. If you're like me, you've heard this from a parent, someone you know, or even your guidance counselor in school. You need to tune out the outside noise so you can formulate your own opinion on the skilled trades. 😎 College isn't for everyone. I went to college and came out more confused than when I was in school. A trades path offers a viable alternative, opening doors to success. 🤑 We need to change the narrative on the trades. It begins in schools with counselors, teachers, and parents and offers accurate information. Trades are an excellent option for the younger generation. #skilledtrades #jointhetrades #bluecollar #STAC --------------------- ↗ Hey, I'm Andrew. When I worked in a learning and development role in a medical college I was pleased to discover that Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is not only a standard concept taught in educator training curricula, but also in nursing programs. For anyone unaware with the theory, a pyramid is used to represent how our capabilities are dependent on our needs being met. The only way to achieve our potential at the top of the pyramid is to first have our physiological, safety, social, and esteem needs met. The impact of the Hierarchy of Needs on me as a student was so great that as an educator I never forgot the importance of student safety & rapport. Maslow's brilliant theory helped me to better understand students holistically, e.g. a student struggling to learn might not have their basic physiological and safety needs met, making learning nearly impossible for them at that moment. Today I was excited to discover that before his death Maslow planned to add a new layer at the top of his pyramid, self-transcendence, which enables some of the most impressive things humans are able to accomplish, such as swimming across the English Channel, and also has the potential to help us work selflessly together to solve the world's biggest problems. #humanistic #psychology #teaching #teachered #education #healthcare #mentalhealth #nursing #nursingeducation

Attention teachers and administrators! If you haven't already, stop what you're doing and begin to focus on RELATIONSHIPS! I truly believe that relationships are the gateway to education. A positive learning environment is enhanced when teachers get to know their students and their families. What makes them tick? What are their passions? What are their biggest challenges? Same goes for administrators - get to know your staff so you can work together to bring about long-lasting, impactful change in education! #educationmatters #backtoschool2024 #teacherpd

Hello Friends: Chatting with a reporter from The Chronicle about teaching through our current #HigherEd moment. How are you navigating the logistics of grading, finals, student support, and being human amidst campus unrest, violence, fear, and trauma? How are you taking care of yourself, your colleagues, and your students? How are you managing the personal within the political, and vice versa? What do you know? What do you want to know? Please share and I'll do my best to amplify your voices and concerns.
