National leader in Infrastructure Collaboration, Scenario Planning, Moving from Vision to Implementation, Public Speaking
Calling infrastructure enthusiasts - have you ever thought of your work this way? (see quote from one of Burns & McDonnell and 1898 & Co. founders). While I'm not so sure the "romantic" part resonates in 2024, the rest of Robert McDonnell's words from nearly 100 years ago ring truer to me than ever before. Planning, designing, building and maintaining all kinds of critical infrastructure saves human lives and adds to the health, happiness and prosperity of our communities. Having worked in the public and private sectors (a couple of times each) and seeing infrastructure sectors converging - I know what you do matters! We can all look for opportunities to collaborate more in our work teams and across sectors keep those words vibrant for another 100 years!

"In the end, achieving the nation’s infrastructure and clean energy goals requires a sufficient workforce. This will require more focused and strategic approaches to talent development than infrastructure and clean energy entities are accustomed to, and they will need to develop more transparent and accessible career opportunities for job seekers and talent in communities that historically have been marginalized from those industries and jobs." - The Brookings Institution The Wisconsin Broadband Workforce Coalition has done much of the heavy lifting: - building relationships across sectors - convening workforce boards, employers, training providers, community organizations, educators and policy makers to address shared problems - demonstrate our value in helping employers recruit, train, and retain the workers they need Visit us online to learn more about our coalition and how you can support our efforts. https://lnkd.in/gbkDpuFv Read more about why #workforcedevelopment is crucial to new #infrastructure and clean energy investments like #broadband expansion.

🔋 America's Next Energy Challenge: Skilled Clean Energy Workers Needed The demand for skilled clean energy workers in the U.S. is rapidly outpacing supply. As we push for energy independence and economic resilience, the shortage of trained professionals is a hurdle—but one we can overcome. 🤝 Public-private partnerships hold the key to bridging this gap. By collaborating with community colleges and trade schools, companies can create targeted training programs that align with their specific needs. For example, Sila's partnership in Moses Lake, WA, provides students with hands-on experience and immediate job opportunities, ensuring a steady talent pipeline. 📚 Investing in workforce development is just as crucial as investing in infrastructure. Through innovative training and partnership models, we can build a robust, skilled labor force ready to lead the clean energy transition.💼 #CleanEnergy #WorkforceDevelopment #PublicPrivatePartnerships
