Oat milk (part 2): Oatly's ingredients list is lying to you... sort of 🔍 Check the ingredients list of Oatly #Bio, the most minimalist one among dairy alternatives, and you'll see three things: - Water - Oats - Salt Therefore, it should be easy to reproduce this drink at home. I tried, so you don't have to. Here is what I've learned. 🧑🍳 All I had to do was take those three ingredients and follow an easy recipe for a DIY oat milk. I blend some oats with water and salt to obtain an oatly emulsion. Then, using a cheesecloth, I clear this solution of little bits and granules. Voila, my own homemade oat milk is ready. Taking a little sip, I realize I am drinking sandy swamp water with no flavor. Eeew. Even adding some sweeteners didn't help. 👩🎨 It, "surprisingly," turns out that the multimillion #plantbased milk companies are not just selling us oats mixed with water. Yes, there is much more to the oat milk #manufacturing process. The difference is not just in the quality of equipment and the precision involved. It is the streamlined biochemical process involving enzymes, ingredients that are NOT ON THE LIST, that give oat milk the *chef's kiss* sweetness and texture. ✅ Want to know what these are?
