Thanks to Woburn Council of Social Concern Inc and East End House, Inc. for hosting members of the VEIR team to volunteer last week. We really appreciated the opportunity to support two amazing food pantries that are providing critical services in the communities where we live and work.

Recently was “bombarded” by the algorithm on social media about public goodness….. in particular about folks all dressed to the Ts representing companies, orgs or political parties touting involvement in public good at staged speeches or high-end hosted dining events, etc. Convincing? IMHO not! The promotion of altruism or good causes shouldn’t be a projection of seemingly counterproductive glamourous imageries against the orginal organizational intent. Do not forget that you are not “the star” but the cause is. The most shining example of #PublicGood or be involved in a #CompanyOfGood is still this:

On this World Braille Day, we at Microdome.in celebrate the legacy of Louis Braille, whose innovative system of raised dots has transformed the lives of millions of blind and visually impaired individuals. As we honor this day, it is essential to recognize the importance of accessibility and inclusion in our society. Braille is not just a means of communication; it represents the fundamental human rights that everyone deserves, regardless of their abilities. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering environments that prioritize accessibility, ensuring that all individuals can navigate their worlds with dignity and independence. Join us in spreading awareness: Learn about Braille: Familiarize yourself with its history and significance. Support Accessibility Initiatives: Advocate for braille in public spaces, workplaces, and educational institutions. Share Your Story: If you or someone you know has benefited from braille, share your experiences to inspire others. Let’s work together to create a world where everyone has equal access to information and opportunities. Happy World Braille Day!

Principal Lamb demonstrates leadership and accountability in seemingly small ways.
Grateful to The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA) for this story. It’s an honor to work with such amazing students, faculty and staff. I love what I do. Being a principal is the greatest job in the world. 🌎 https://lnkd.in/gyNcAYSP

Thank you for stating what we see somehow “overlook” The California Endowment. Our collective thanks to #farmworkers who ensure we eat, regardless of the physically demanding daily work and oftentimes not accessing the food they grow. What a parallel to ponder (not to shame, but to increase our collective curiosity and growth): traveling far distances from home with the hope of getting a smartphone camera’s distance from a musical performance; spending some of the time in dust, dirt, mud, and elements; paying large sums of money to witness incredible talent and creativity and being “seen” via social media. Versus Traveling far distances from home with the hope of a better paying job that can support themselves and their families; spending all of their time in the dust, dirt, mud, and elements; receiving low wages and being overlooked and taken for granted for feeding everyone who attends such festivals - and not being “seen” at all. Gratitude and curiosity helps us look at root causes to systemic issues. There are always solutions. P.S. COCHELLA PRODUCTIONS check out Lucidity Festivals local procurement system
As thousands of people head to the Coachella Valley, we uplift and celebrate the farmworkers, day laborers, and immigrants that keep California going. Coachella is more than just the festival.

Starting my weekend with some self-reflection and relaxation. With a full schedule ahead—family visits, volunteer orientation, the American Heart Association walk, and the NJ Devils preseason opener with Sean—it feels good to take a moment to reset. Thank you Maryellen Herrera, CALA for lending me *Get Out of Your Own Way* by Dave Hollis. It’s been a helpful guide in managing stress and reminding me to not stand in the way of my own success. When we focus solely on work, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged if we don’t meet our own expectations. How can we pull back before we hit that breaking point? Lean on your support systems and take it one day at a time.
