As a site manager, engineer, or in my case an site management intern in the dynamic world of construction, you’re no stranger to the challenges and complexities that come with building structures. But what if I told you there’s a game-changing technology that can enhance your efficiency, safety, and collaboration on the construction site? Enter Augmented Reality (AR). Why AR Matters in Construction: Project Visualization and Presentation: AR allows you to showcase architectural designs and construction plans like never before. Imagine standing on an empty plot of land, wearing AR glasses/Smartphones/tabs, and instantly seeing a 3D model of the proposed building superimposed on the site. It’s like having X-ray vision for construction! Precision and Accuracy: AR assists you in precise measurements, alignment, and layout. By overlaying digital information onto the physical environment, AR minimizes errors during construction, saving time and resources. Collaboration Made Seamless: Communicating with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders becomes effortless. AR bridges gaps by allowing real-time data sharing, whether it’s coordinating progress, resolving design clashes, or inspecting work. Safety First: Construction sites are inherently hazardous. AR enhances safety by providing critical information without distracting workers. Picture workers wearing AR helmets displaying safety guidelines, hazard zones, and emergency exits—keeping everyone informed and protected. So today at site, I tried to work with AR. I installed GAMMA AR,(thanks to their trial version) on my phone and used the 3D model available and went on site how it would look like. Since it was the first time I had a little bit of trouble understanding how to work with it, but then I found it real easy. This so cool!! Thanks to ULCCO (Special Projects) Limited for this amazing opportunity to intern with your construction team. It's been an amazing experience being able to contribute my ideas and innovate in the workplace. #ConstructionTech #ARinConstruction #BuildingInnovation
