As a site manager, engineer, or in my case an site management intern in the dynamic world of construction, you’re no stranger to the challenges and complexities that come with building structures. But what if I told you there’s a game-changing technology that can enhance your efficiency, safety, and collaboration on the construction site? Enter Augmented Reality (AR). Why AR Matters in Construction: Project Visualization and Presentation: AR allows you to showcase architectural designs and construction plans like never before. Imagine standing on an empty plot of land, wearing AR glasses/Smartphones/tabs, and instantly seeing a 3D model of the proposed building superimposed on the site. It’s like having X-ray vision for construction! Precision and Accuracy: AR assists you in precise measurements, alignment, and layout. By overlaying digital information onto the physical environment, AR minimizes errors during construction, saving time and resources. Collaboration Made Seamless: Communicating with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders becomes effortless. AR bridges gaps by allowing real-time data sharing, whether it’s coordinating progress, resolving design clashes, or inspecting work. Safety First: Construction sites are inherently hazardous. AR enhances safety by providing critical information without distracting workers. Picture workers wearing AR helmets displaying safety guidelines, hazard zones, and emergency exits—keeping everyone informed and protected. So today at site, I tried to work with AR. I installed GAMMA AR,(thanks to their trial version) on my phone and used the 3D model available and went on site how it would look like. Since it was the first time I had a little bit of trouble understanding how to work with it, but then I found it real easy. This so cool!! Thanks to ULCCO (Special Projects) Limited for this amazing opportunity to intern with your construction team. It's been an amazing experience being able to contribute my ideas and innovate in the workplace. #ConstructionTech #ARinConstruction #BuildingInnovation

Architectural designer | Business Growth through Architectural Visual Marketing | Sketchup + TwinMotion | M.Sc in Advanced Architectural Deisgn at Queens University Belfast |
“ Your value exceeds even your own estimation “ -Sivaraman S. This invaluable life lesson underscores the immense potential we each hold within ourselves, awaiting discovery and cultivation. During my tenure as an architectural intern, I had the privilege of working with a firm that outsourced the critical task of 3D visualization for our designs. Under the guidance of a seasoned structural engineer, I meticulously crafted precise drawings that laid the foundation for our projects. However, it was during this period that a pivotal realization struck me - the aspiration to embark on a new professional journey. It was while perusing my social media feed, like any aspiring professional, that I stumbled upon a groundbreaking update to Twinmotion . During my spare moments, I made a resolute decision to immerse myself in a project utilizing this innovative software. What began as a playful exploration soon transformed into a passion project. While my initial intent was to acquaint myself with the software's new features, as I delved deeper into the project, an idea took shape - showcasing it to our esteemed architect. With unwavering dedication, I invested my weekends to bring this vision to life. The moment I presented it to our architect, the palpable energy in the room was nothing short of exhilarating. It was at that juncture that I realized we no longer needed to outsource our renders. In fact, I took it upon myself to impart these techniques to select colleagues, thereby enhancing our in-house capabilities. Simultaneously, I continued to collaborate closely with the structural engineer, and I chose to take on the additional mantle of project management. This dual role not only honed my proficiency in both software and project execution but also reaffirmed my commitment to delivering excellence in every endeavor. This pivotal experience has not only enriched my professional journey but also underscored the transformative power of embracing innovation and pushing boundaries in the field of architecture. #ProfessionalGrowth #ArchitecturalJourney #InnovationInDesign #CareerEvolution #DesignVisualization

Licensed Architect in Frankfurt am M. | Podcaster. I post about my process as an architect and how to comunicate online.
Sexy Tasks Pay Less and Ruin Work-Life Balance. Let's take the world of architecture as an example. All architects want to be designers for competitions, creating cool, flashy designs to brag about with their friends. But what is the hard truth? This work can be done by one senior architect with a group of interns or recent graduates. If you want to increase your salary or improve your work-life balance, specialize in what no one knows how or wants to do. Here are some examples: - BIM - Computational Design - Project Management - Cost Planning - DGNB/LEED/BREEAM Sustainability Certifications - WiredScore Certifications These tasks may not be sexy, but they will definitely lead to a sexier bank account and give you the free time to be much sexier than the classical architect. If you agree, let's connect and brainstorm together about our careers.

The Hidden Challenges of Design Engineering: What They Don't Tell You. For some reason, designers who code have historically been put on some kind of imaginative pedestal. But when working in a team environment, this hybrid skillset brings challenges of its own. Let me share with you some hidden realities of so called "unicorns". 1. Master of none You are a generalist in a sea of specialists. Talk about imposter syndrome. Each day you will work with designers and developers who are more experienced than you and you will have to find a way to influence them. 2. Team of one You'll often find yourself responsible for tracks of work that are solely your own. When you're blocked, you'll need to find the right partners to get your projects across the finish line. Most DEs I know are self-starters. 3. Role ambiguity Chances are, there's going to be stakeholders you work with, including leadership, that don't fully understand your role and what value you bring to the company. 4. Lack of career progression Design engineering is still a niche role. The chances of joining a team with a career track for you are slim to none. #DesignEngineering is the most rewarding position I have ever worked in but every role has it's challenges and it's important to bring awareness to some of the lesser unknown truths.
