“It isn’t the size of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives is.” – This quote is an apt description of the hearts of every pilot, volunteer and sponsor who contributed to the success of #theeldersflight2024 on 6 July 2024 at Air Force Base Swartkop. But this quote is probably most descriptive of the couple behind this event – Felix Gosher and his wife Belinda Gosher – who have huge hearts and love organising these charity events. This time it was for hundreds of elders, many of whom have never before had the privilege to fly in an aircraft and who were as excited as children to be given the opportunity. The aircraft that provided the elderly with an opportunity to be taken to the skies came in all shapes and sizes, from fixed wing to rotary wing aircraft – from small RVs and Cessnas to the CemAir Dash 8-400 to a Huey helicopter. Aviation and those involved in this industry are close to the hearts of everyone at Vektor Aviation and it warms our hearts when we see that some of our clients share our passion by giving back to the community during these events. The Elders Flight 2024 was yet another successful event where we could share our passion for “all things flying” with those who took the skies for the first time. The privilege is ours.
