Introducing "I AM WOMAN” - a body of work aiming to craft a new language of being and expression for today’s woman. A language that recognizes her female biology, human potential and her aspirations. What can you expect in “I AM WOMAN”? Experiential workshops, monthly newsletter and a podcast of the same name. All of our work will be informed by female biology, neuroscience and ancient wisdom. Each exploration, every workshop and all discourse will revolve around #curiosity, #compassion, #care and #delight, which also are our brand values. What are we exploring ? Transformative knowledge and understanding of female biology including the window of opportunity in menstruation cycles, embracing menopause to harness a woman's natural rhythm and wisdom and much more. Why us? As Kakoli Das articulated so beautifully; she and I are committed to doing the work we wish we had the good fortune of experiencing earlier in our lives. We are bringing together our experiences of being a #woman , from our lived experience and from women who have upheld and journeyed with us and the rigorous study and research we have done and do out of our curiosity - with the purpose of enabling women to thrive while articulating for herself - what being a woman means to her! No one size fits all! No 'shoulds'. This is an exploration and one that at long last honors our female biology as a vital and connected part of self hood. This is for all women including our #lgbt sisters, friends, partners and colleagues! If you are an organization focussed on developing female talent and potential, please get in touch with us! #iamwoman #womanwithinmymum #femalebiology #womenwellbeing #embodiedfeminine #menstrualcycleawareness #menopauseandwomen #dei

I start this article by saying that, in my experience of talking about the menstrual cycle to grown humans in the past 14 years, what always stands in the way of a deep exchange of wisdom, is the lack of curiosity. What if I told you that our lack of cultural shared awareness about the cycle is one of the core issues behind our "gender wars"? You are not interested in gender talk but are interested in systems change? Well, what if I told you that your view on the cycle will also have ripples on all man-made systems? If I tickled your curiosity, check this article out, share it with others, and join the lab!

"No uterus, no opinion," from Friends, humorously underscores a serious issue: the lack of knowledge and understanding about female biology. A male-centric mindset in research and decision-making limits the progress and effectiveness of science, often to the detriment of women's health and rights. We can bridge this knowledge gap, improve societal well-being, and work towards closing the gender gap. The female brain 🧠 has incredible abilities that we must understand, honor and respect. Earlier this week, Anneke Campbell and I launched Volume #2 of our recent newsletter project, Leading from the Feminine: Bodily Autonomy & Reproductive Rights. How can we imagine ourselves free if we don’t have authority, or authorship, of our own bodies? Bodily autonomy, including the right to contraception, birthing and abortion care, is all over the news for good reason as many states are passing laws that harken back to the 1800’s, placing control over our bodies in the hands of mostly conservative Christian politicians and lawmakers. This backwards movement also impacts the larger picture of health equity and reproductive justice. The human rights and health crises precipitated by the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision has thankfully brought increasingly more women into engaged action as we (and the people who love us) understand we now have to fight for the right to decide how to care for our own bodies and reproductive choices, and this has spurred a positive mutual aid activism. This twice-monthly newsletter illuminates the most intersectional, effective and beautiful work offering solutions to pressing gender-based challenges, and explore topics that are sometimes overlooked, including the art of mothering as leadership, the power of reclaiming healthy emotions, and the role of art and creativity in advancing transformative change. 🌹 Sign up to receive the newsletter: https://bit.ly/LFF–NL https://lnkd.in/g97xPNPq]

What does Women’s History Month mean to you? In celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth, we interviewed female leaders at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies on their career experiences and values. Meet Melanie Neal, Vice President, Global Commercial Excellence. “To me, International Women’s Day and the month of March is a time to celebrate and learn from what women have overcome and achieved before us. It is also a time to be both reflective and intentional about how we create a more equitable, accessible, and inclusive environment for women and girls around the world. One of the most significant lessons I have learned throughout my career is to surround yourself with people who believe in you, will encourage you to achieve your potential, and will be there to support you when things aren’t going as planned. Everyone needs help at some point. Don’t wait too long to reach out. And remember that someday you will be the one someone is reaching out to.” Melanie also shares her advice to other women pursuing a career in the medical field. “No matter what your role, if you work in the healthcare industry you are having a positive impact on patients, their families, and friends. Your work makes a difference in a space where innovation and excellence save and improve lives EVERY SINGLE DAY. “ More to come in the next few days! #FemaleEmpowerment #DEI

Every day is International Women‘s Day 2/365 Why this series? This is an art experiment. Every day is International Women’s Day, because it’s wrong to honor women on ONE CIRCADIAN CYCLE*. ☀ If we think about this, we honor women within the hormonal framework of men. We should at least have International Women’s MONTH to take ourselves seriously. 🌕 🌗 🌑 🌓 I will try a whole year, to experience all seasons, too. Because having IWD in SPRING** 🌸 is another twisted attempt to keep the old story of WHEN we celebrate women. Think about it. What if we celebrated women in summer? 🌻 In autumn? 🍁 In winter, even? 🥀 Which messages would this send to the world? That there are older, wiser women to be celebrated? That women are allowed to rest and still be wonderful and worthy? Let’s give it a try. As an author who has been writing every single day for over four years, I know there will be “difficult days”. I want to label them differently: There will be “resting days”. Rest is important. We all know that. It’s time to act on it and embrace it. I will permit myself to rest. Just as I do in the evening, I will be resting on certain days. There will be shorter posts, pre-written posts, or guest posts. (Let me know if you want to join. 🌝) *As women, we have different hormonal (which means energetical) cycles than men. There is the circadian rhythm, the daily clock. And there is the infradian rhythm, the 28-day rhythm. Men work on a daily hormonal cycle, and women have been trying to keep up. I will be sensitive to my inner clock during this experiment. I will be sensitive to my energy levels throughout the months. No one would expect men to function during the day and in the middle of the night, for weeks, and then tell them: Now you rest for a couple of weeks. Well, we kind of do this to women when we say: Function on the daily clock, no matter where you are in your monthly cycle. ** I am aware this only the case on the northern half of earth.
