We're here for a career glow-up 💅. As we've grown, so has the roles of our crew. We're highlighting some of those key members whove taken their Nice career to new heights, starting off with Ashley! Share your humble beginnings. Where did you get your start? "I found out about Nice through our founder's mutual biz friends. So I came highly recommended, as no surprise 😎. I started as a packer, but made it clear that I wanted to learn everything I could and grow with the company." What are you up to now? "I helped create and develop the whole picking department at Nice Commerce. I now train and lead a team, ensuring we have the right processes in place to efficiently and accurately pick orders across multiple brands." How has Nice changed since you’ve been here? "When I started, you could see from one side of the warehouse straight to the other side. We didn't have any racking, there were just organized palettes on the ground. I've got to see the Nice warehouse get built up from ground zero" 0 to 💯 If Nice were a TV series, which one would it be? "Scooby Doo: We're problem-solving and getting the bottom of mysteries in the warehouse each day." 🕵️♀️ If you could have a billboard anywhere in Nice, what would it say? "You’re doing great :)" [ed note: Thanks, I really needed that!] What’s a Nice core memory that will forever be burned into your brain? "Our easter egg hunt. Seeing a bunch of grown adults running after some eggs with melted chocolate is unforgettable." 🐣 #NiceCommerce #careeradvancement #careergrowth #fulfillment #warehousemanagement #employeespotlight #3PL

With the Original Tommy's celebrating its 78th anniversary, it seems right to share this story again before the month is over: Tom Koulax opened the Original Tommy's shack on Beverly and Rampart back in 1946. In time, Tommy's opened new locations, sold merch, and purchased the land at all four corners of Beverly and Rampart. Two are used by the restaurant and two are leased. Why am I sharing this story? To remind you to look for additional revenue streams instead of relying on one. If you have a steady job, you're in the best position to do something on the side. Start a side hustle and take advantage of the tools at your reach to make it successful. It may even become your main revenue stream in due time. James & Sons Fine Jewelers promotes three tenured employees - Megan Sarnowski, Kacie Kowalczyk, and Samantha Kienzle. The company has always been one to promote from within. Here’s a recap of everything we did this week in our business (and what I learned): 1. San Fran Successes Whenever I visit Faire HQ, I leave enchanted by the people I meet and the culture they’re building. Nate & I had a lot of fun with the SKO workshop and so did the ~100 strong sellers in the room. It was nice to see the wrap up include this takeaway: “Curious Lion knows their sh1t - How/What and problem statements are our new best friends.” Thank you for having us! Bonus to this trip was an awesome dinner at Jessica Wolf’s house where I met bright minds and friendly faces in the people space. Love what Jessica and her team are building. 2. Sales Process Redesign I should probably drop the “re” as this is our first formalized sales process at CL. Growth has been opportunistic until now. I’m excited for what organization and discipline will bring. My Chief of Staff has already blown me away helping out here. 3. Pipeline Flow Not bad for being out half the week. Two first meetings. Both have specific follow ups and next calls booked. But didn’t move anything else in the pipeline. Focus next week is to increase first meeting volume and work the pipeline more thoughtfully. 4. Reorganizing Building on the momentum of hiring a CoS, we’re putting the finishing touches on our new team structure. The objective was to free me up to focus on a few high leverage things, and I believe we’ve got that right now. I’m excited to share this with the team at our monthly all hands this week. 5. Readout I did a readout for Fordham University in preparation for our workshop next week. I sense we’ve uncovered a deeper purpose to the workshop, which makes me excited for the session on Wednesday. And that’s a wrap. This week was intense— I was in SF for 30 hours. Took the redeye home to be with my 38-week pregnant wife. I know, I’m lucky to have her. Two weeks till we meet our baby girl 😍 PS. Shout out to Andy White for helping me create a sales process that works for us. Andy goes above and beyond, you should connect with him. Also to Jacob Karp for his banger field guide for sales (link in comments, don’t hesitate to buy). #clweeklyreview

It’s a family focused and lazy Saturday for me. I get 1 more day at home before I take a Sunday flight to San Francisco for a few days. The week after that I’m traveling to Austin, for some special events and announcements 👀. The week after that Vegas for ShopTalk. The week after that Seattle for my father’s funeral. Being a head of sales at an early stage company isn’t easy. It’s even more challenging when you’re a parent and a spouse. And TBH I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’ve had my days over the past year at FERMÀT where I felt like I was in over my head, or that I was taking on too much. I’m grateful I’ve noticed those moments so I can take care of myself. It’s not every day you get presented the opportunity of a lifetime. The role with a company that sets the tone for the rest of your career. I get the chance to lead sales for one of the fastest growing Ecom SaaS companies in the world. I’m so grateful for my incredible and growing team, our customers who believe in us, Rishabh Jain and Shreyas Kumar for taking a chance on this with me, and all the miles I’m going to be racking up along the way. All I can do is smile and try to find airline seats with extra legroom 😂. #grateful #saassales #ecommerce #fermat #landingpageoptimization

Leaving a job you've been at for almost three years is tough, especially when it isn't your call. Unfortunately, not the first time it's happened to me but it honestly doesn't get easier. For the first time in a long time I was primed to succeed in this position. My #mentalhealth was on point, therapy once a week, kids & family thriving, and I was on two panels at the main company's sales summit. Then it all came crashing down and I don't know or understand why. What I do know, is that I can do sales because I no longer see sales as the stereotypical "sales" role. Sales as a customer service role is more important to me. I like helping people achieve their dreams and with my former company I was doing that. There are signs in my old elementary school that I sold so kids can get to the right rooms. There are banners hanging from fences that companies purchased as their first form of advertising. There are seniors with signs in their front yards acknowledging their scholastic accomplishments. There are first-time business owners who are scraping money together to open their first store and that light above their entrance is because I helped them with permitting, with design, with installation, and was with them every step of the way. I sold to all of those people, but my primary focus was to get them what they wanted, something they could be proud of, something that would show them leaving a lasting legacy. That was my focus and why I SET RECORDS at the place I was working, so much so that corporate invited me to speak in front of hundreds of people just 10 months ago. But then again, setting records is nothing new for me, I did it in sports (baseball & basketball), I do it with stuffed animals, and I did it on a boat in Niagara Falls. Where am I going from here? I don't know. Will I go back to a different franchise within the same company? Possibly, if the opportunity is right. The company itself is run by some great women who I admire, respect and have had the opportunity to meet. Catherine Monson, CFE and Andrea Hohermuth you're doing it right, and Catherine you are why I gave this job a shot in the first place because I saw humility and accountability when you appeared on Undercover Boss. Also, thanks to April Gilliland and Jessica Johnson for all of your kind works and kicks in the butt when I needed them. You all challenged me to push me out of my comfort zone, to open up, and allow myself to excel. The thank you note you left me from OSS last year is one of my most cherished items.

LOOK WHO'S IN THE SPOTLIGHT! We recently sat down with Dr. Bissessar to hear about her experience as a new Costco leaseholder. CO: What drew you to Costco originally? LB: I originally wanted to lease with Costco because it seemed like it would offer a hassle free, stream-lined way to build a practice which would allow me to focus more time on patients and to do more of the things I went to school for. And so far, it has been exactly that. CO: What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far? LB: Best career lesson I learned so far is to be adaptable and flexible. Treatments, technology and patient care is constantly changing especially after the pandemic. Be always open and ready to grow and change with the times. CO: What do you like most about being an optometrist? LB: In addition to being a low stress career I like being an optometrist because I get to meet a diverse group of people and I love helping people see the world more clearly and comfortably. CO: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know? LB: A fun fact about me is that I love to interior decorate and I offer my friends and family input often
