Last Friday, July 19th, we celebrated our long-awaited summer dinner! It was an incredible evening that began with a delicious appetizer, followed by a seated dinner that allowed us to enjoy good #company. During the dinner, we were reminded of the importance of teamwork and celebrated the achievements we have reached. We were motivated with inspiring words to continue forward with determination and collaboration. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a #performance by our new #colleagues, showing that they have arrived with energy and talent! The evening concluded with a dance that left us all with great memories. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful #celebration possible. #ventosglobal

Who says work and fun can't mix? Our team at the financial advisory office spices things up with our monthly Curry Club. We visit different Indian restaurants around town, and it's not just about the food. These outings are a part of how we build up our team spirit, bringing everyone together in a shared love for good curry and good company. This shared experience not only lets us explore diverse flavors but also fuels a positive atmosphere within our team. It enhances our morale and strengthens our bond, making us not just a team, but a tightly-knit curry-loving family. There's nothing like a good meal to get people talking, laughing, and connecting on a deeper level. It goes to show how a serving of sumptuous curry can stir up more than just your taste buds, it can stir up a spirited and vibrant work culture too! When's the last time your meal added a dose of camaraderie into your work? #CurryClub #TeamBuilding #WorkplaceCulture

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. Today was BBQ day at work. Its events such as this that bring so much value to your team and builds #morale in those involved. Now, let me start by saying, I don’t claim to be a chef but I do take pride in my work and made sure everything was cooked properly. Today was a day to show recognition for my staff and to enjoy time together and build those relationships that help bring us together as a team. The actions of being a #serventleader represents my willingness to focus on the #growth and #wellbeing of my team. By being in a position to show my #gratitude to my team and sitting with them while we eat I felt we were a team and I donor hold seniority over anyone. The impact this event had on the atmosphere was amazing. To have a group of people sharing stories, sharing laughter and simply getting to know their pears brings so much to the team, the branch and the organization. Social events such as these are honestly #lowcost and #highreward events. It shouldn’t be done every day because they may lose their luster but on occasion they are a wonderful thing to hold. Don’t overlook the opportunity for team work and learning opportunities while you prepare for and wrap up the event. I saw a group of people become energized, improve communication and engage in conversations that egnited curiosity and interest. I look forward to the next time we can hold another bbq and share more memories and stories and help bring all of the team together. What has been your experiences with these kinds of events and what would you suggest to kick it up a notch and really bring the best out of everyone? I look forward to your contributions in the comments below. If you enjoy my #thoughtfortheday posts be sure to follow me, contribute to the conversation and share to your feed to expand our reach and grow our networks. #thanksfortheread.

On Resilience and Leadership 🌟 Watching an old clip of Conan O’Brien, he spoke about the grind of hosting a talk show - how, despite being sick or tired, the show must go on. This struck a chord with me, especially reflecting on my own experiences and those of many in the hotel and restaurant industry. I’ve been ill, seriously at times, and I’ve seen colleagues face even harsher trials, from battling cancer to enduring profound personal losses. Yet, they show up to work, embodying a level of dedication that’s both admirable and humbling. #this is what the legendary #hotelmanagement and #restauranteurs understand more than the 98% of the rest, and they have policies procedures in place, but it starts with living it, being a role model that understands, empathizes, and knows it, from living it. #agree? #disagree? Love to hear your thoughts. This isn’t just about obligation. It’s about understanding that our teams and our guests rely on us, not just as individuals but as part of a greater whole. Coming to work in the face of adversity isn’t just a duty; it’s a testament to our commitment to each other - like exercising a muscle, or leaning on a friend in tough times. It's a reminder of the strength found in our collective resilience, and the importance of showing up, no matter what. Because at the end of the day, our roles are about more than just us; they're about the people we serve and the teams we're a part of. #Leadership #Resilience #Hospitality #hotels #hotelmanagement #fortheloveofhospitality #restaurant #ownership #mentors #thelife #conan #talkshow #thanks #coco

Thanksgiving, is not a global holiday nor is it a popular celebration in every American household... However, if we were to unpack the celebration, and dissect the purpose & value of reflection and giving thanks, there's a few lessons that apply beyond this annual celebration. Turkey Day Take aways that can be applied to our jobs, workplaces, and even the employee experience. 1. Who do you save a seat for at the table? - Are you intentionally creating space & opportunities for those that would otherwise might not get a chance... 2. What are you contributing to the celebration? - Beyond the great wine & tasty food, personally, I always come prepared with stories to share & memories to reminisce on. Similarly, bringing your full self FIRST is a great opportunity to model what vulnerability in the workplace and on your team could & should be like. 3. How are you navigating the "hard" or (un)comfortable conversations? - Not everyone will have the same opinion, however, there MUST be group agreements to create safe spaces for ALL to show up authentically & feel free to SPEAK UP! You don't want a table filled with all the same opinions nor do you want a monoculture that does not encourage nor celebrate individuality & diversity of thoughts and culture. Do you have any lessons learned at Thanksgiving that are parallel to organizational culture & behavior? #vulnerable #leadership #safespace #speakup #culture #purpose #belonging #dei #organizationalculture #organizationalbehavior

Happy Monday y’all! On my way to grab my Monday morning Dunkin' today, was thinking on what #MondayMotivation means to me. And it changes weekly. Sometimes certain things motivate me. Sometimes certain goals motivate me. Sometimes I see a tattoo on Pinterest and I’m like, oooh I’ll work harder to be able to get THAT soon. But today, some folks popped into my head. Ladies and gentlemen who I’ve come across in the #HospitalityRecruiting space who just go above and beyond on this platform to be…great. And celebrate and uplift not only their current employees to show that career pathing is attainable, but also future candidates. So, here’s a few of the folks I think are doing some best in class recruiting: ✨ Kelly Hogrebe (ACG BBQ, LLC) ✨ Tristen Schultz (Noodles & Company) ✨ Brea Jennings (Torchy's Tacos) ✨ Breanna Buchanan (Dutch Bros Coffee) ✨ Emily Hall Biasco (Jim 'N Nick's Community Bar-B-Q) ✨ Patrick Hall (Jim 'N Nick's Community Bar-B-Q) ✨ Christopher Frey , MBI-CT, CI (Love's Travel Stops) ✨ Gini Quiroz (Smokey Mo's BBQ) So many more to add to the list, but thank y’all for all that you do! And if anyone on this list or who’s looking at this wants to nominate rockstars they know to be shouted out next Monday, make sure to show them some 🩷 in the comments 🫶🏽 looking for recruiting, HR, ops, etc folks who actively find great talent for the hotels, restaurants, oil change chains, etc they work for!! Happy Monday y’all ☺️ #Restaurants #Innovation
