Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending an event that Startup Grind, a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and innovators dedicated to sharing knowledge and fostering collaborations, had arranged with the help of Fuckup Nights, a space where entrepreneurs share their failures and lessons learned. Here's what I took from the great talks: 1. The importance of mental health and prioritizing it. Jordi Miró Bruix shared how sidelining our mental health will only make things worse and how sharing your situation and accepting the support of others is all it takes to start getting better. 2. The importance of aligning values and expectations with the team and avoiding self-overload. Gemma Cernuda, Canelles shared about situations that can completely blindside you and how resilience is a key skill for entrepreneurs. She also emphasized that "doing good is good business" which really resonated with me. 3. Knockouts are inevitable in the entrepreneurial arena. Jorge Araujo Muller shared his journey and how he developed his resilience, highlighting the importance of not dwelling on what we can't change and focusing on what we can. A big thank you to all the organizers and speakers!! #StartupGrind #FuckUpNights #Entrepreneurship #MentalHealth #Resilience #Community

🧠🙏 I said it before and I am saying it again; Thank You Andreas Aabo for taking on one of the most important and difficult challenges we are facing as a society today. As a father of two beautiful daughters I am witnessing first hand how growing up has changed and became so much more complex, difficult and overwhelming. My School years were the most carefree, social and happiest of my life and I knew no one who suffered from any kind of depression and needed therapy. New research from Justin Heinze found that approximately 44% of students reported symptoms of depression, 37% reported anxiety disorders and 15% reported having seriously considered suicide in the past year—the highest recorded rates in the history of the 15-year-old survey at University of Michigan School of Public Health. Everyone at Healper, keep up the good work. We cannot wait for you to bring your platform oversees and help us be happier here in the US. 🌤 😁 #TechForGood #Happiness #MentalHealth #Mindfulness #Students #Parents #SocialIssue #worldmentalhealthday #HappinessParadox #worldmentalhealthday2024 #mentalhealthawareness #Children #InnovateForMentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #Healper

Exciting Announcement! Today marks a significant milestone for me as I prepare for my first public speaking engagement since my fundraising days. However, this time, it's about something far more personal and profound – it's about sharing my journey through grief and loss. Opening up and being vulnerable about such deeply personal experiences isn't easy. But I believe it's necessary. It's necessary because it's through these stories, these raw and unfiltered accounts of our lives, that we pave the way for change and understanding. At The Coping Specialist and Inner Light Wellbeing CIC, we're passionate about initiating conversations around grief and loss individually and in the workplace. We firmly believe that creating compassionate workplaces starts with acknowledging, educating and supporting employers and employees about Life after Loss and supporting those going through their most challenging times. Our decision to speak openly about our personal journeys isn't just about catharsis; it's about leading by example. It's about demonstrating that it's okay to talk about grief and loss, even in environments where vulnerability might feel uncomfortable. By sharing our stories, we hope to inspire others to do the same. And encourage companies to sign up to our Grief and Loss Awareness Session to start the conversation in their workplace. Because only through collective understanding and empathy can we truly foster compassionate workplaces where individuals feel supported and valued. Let's spark conversations, break down barriers, and create spaces where everyone's experiences are acknowledged and respected. Together, let's make a difference. As an investor, it’s usually quite easy to see which companies are going to do well when fundraising. You need at least 2 of these 3: • Growing customer base • Unique value proposition • Enthusiastic pitch Although, I don’t see much success without item 3.
🚀 Boost Your Startup's Fundraising! Avoid these pitfalls: 1. Raising without customers 🚫 2. Diluting your value proposition 🌟 3. Weak pitch 🎤 Turn these missteps into successes! 🤔 Founders, what other fundraising challenges have you faced and how did you overcome them? #StartupLife #FundraisingTips #Entrepreneurship

"As highlighted by Berkeley Wellbeing, an increasing number of people express a desire to make a positive impact on the world around them. This sentiment underscores a fundamental shift in societal values, emphasizing the importance of collective action and social responsibility. In this evolving landscape, the concept of #socialenterprise has emerged as a beacon of hope—a dynamic solution to address pressing societal challenges. Social enterprises are not merely businesses driven by profit; they are purpose-driven entities committed to leveraging entrepreneurial principles to drive positive change. Now more than ever, the essence of the "why" behind social enterprise resonates deeply with individuals, communities, and society as a whole." Read more from our March #consultantspotlight, Academies for Social Entrepreneurship, on the urgency for transforming the #philanthropy landscape in our most recent SEA blog post here: https://lnkd.in/eByyUbMa
