I recently had the privilege of supporting immixGroup and Tanium by attending #COVITS and I am thrilled to share some highlights and key takeaways.
One key theme that resonated deeply with me was the complexity and collaborative nature of IT. As one speaker eloquently put it, "the nature of IT is complicated, it is a team sport." This reminds us that our achievements in the tech world are truly a collective effort.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin reminded us that "Virginia is a darn special place," echoing the unique and thriving technology landscape here. It was inspiring to hear about the innovative strides being made and how "we are technologists," continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in IT.
Another profound concept discussed was the "integration of humanity and technology." This captured the essence of our work—bridging the gap between advanced technology and human capability. However, as one speaker wisely noted, "There is a gap between the power we have and the human ability to use it," which underscores the importance of continuous learning, upskilling and adaptation in our field.
