How Many Meetings Is Too Many Meetings? In Indian workplaces, meetings are like chai—there’s always another one brewing. We’ve all been there: 🔹 A meeting to prepare for a meeting. 🔹 A meeting to discuss what happened in the previous meeting. 🔹 A meeting where you don’t know why you are invited ? 🔹 And the classic, "This could have been an email" meeting. By the time you’re done with your day of meetings, the only thing you’ve achieved is... scheduling more meetings! 🙃 So, how do we know we’ve crossed the line? ✅ You schedule time to do actual work... is between 8:00 PM and midnight. Let’s be honest—meetings aren’t going anywhere. But maybe, just maybe, we can all agree on a few ground rules: ✔️ If it doesn’t need a meeting, send an email. ✔️ If it does, make it short and purposeful. ✔️ And for the love of productivity, no more meetings about meetings! How do you survive the meeting marathon? #WorkplaceHumor #TooManyMeetings #MeetingMadness

Insightful article on how to conduct “effective” 1:1 meetings I’d also say that both “Check-in” & “Check-out” are as important as the meetings themselves. The check in & out are mainly about oneself as a human rather than an employee it is about how you feel right now, so basically you need to share your “feelings” that are reated to you as a human being. And it becomes more effective to share these feeings before the meeting “Check-in” and at the end of the meeting “Check-out”.

Working in Sweden… Post # 7 Meetings is a thing in Swedish work culture. Your calendar will sometimes filled with invitations all day and you will be jumping from one meeting to another. Many times there are meetings on how can we reduce the number of meetings. Everything has to be discussed before taking any decisions. Even at home people have shared calendars hanging on the refrigerator to plan the family activities. Most of the people carry a diary with them and they can tell you in advance what so their plan on a specific date in 3 months. People do not visit their friends or family without prior booking of time.

Before COVID, most meetings used to be physical and despite the meeting logistics being so rigid,I tend to feel they used to be so interactive and a lot of constructive ideas would be discussed from different perspectives by the meeting attendants. Then COVID came and online meetings became so popular.Of course the flexibility is good. However, just how interactive are most of these online meetings????And just how much do people pay attention? Could people just log in to click the attendance box and go on with other work/engagements? Anyway....Random thoughts.
