Following the critical minerals roadmap. The United States is approaching Indonesia for a multinational partnership on critical minerals, a 14-nation collaboration alongside the European Union. This partnership, the MSP (Mineral Security Partnership), aims to accelerate the development of sustainable supply chains for critical minerals and facilitate both financial and diplomatic support. Indonesia, for its part, which has rich reserves of minerals such as nickel, copper and bauxite, seeks to promote itself as a production center for batteries and electric vehicles. At Veracio we celebrate initiatives that promote more sustainable mining development. From our expertise, we provide AI solutions focused on the collection of geological data, thus contributing to the efficiency and competitiveness of the industry, and we encourage the decarbonization path that the world is taking. Millions of tons of copper will be required for our world to achieve net-zero targets. From energy storage batteries, electric grids, EVs & electrical devices need the mineral. According to Statista, based on value China was the largest exporter of copper ore in 2022 at $23.1 billion, secondly Peru at $13.4 billion & thirdly Indonesia at $9.2 billion👇 https://lnkd.in/ghyPc6XT. Yet the mining industry faces challenges like any other industry. Every industry faces challenges given a situation. While the net-zero transition begins economic growth is important & we can see a growth in green jobs as well. From precision farming to the energy sector, by 2030 we could see a rapid rise. Very interesting read. Gives detailed insights on which countries dominate ownership of the supply chain by investing in the regions with abundance of critical minerals. Key Highlights- > China's extensive overseas mining presence across all continents, unlike the US. > Current exploitation of resources in African countries by Chinese companies rather than the countries themselves. > South American nations Chile and Peru as leading destinations for foreign investment in critical mineral mines. > Canada's continued leadership in planned critical mines capacity.

Recently, I had the honor of participating in the 9th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals, where I had the privilege of sharing insights on how collaborative efforts in the mining industry can drive economic value for ASEAN. ASEAN countries will continue to play a significant role in global supply of critical minerals, particularly on nickel, tin, REE, etc. In my presentation, we delved into four key collaboration areas: 1. Advance Technology: Unleash the potential of downstream technologies to enhance safety, boost productivity, and claim a larger share of the value chain. 2. Enhance Trade and Investment: Let's promote robust intra- and extra-ASEAN trade and investments in mineral-rich states, driving economic growth. 3. Unleash Talent: As the industry evolves, upskilling our workforce is crucial. Let's facilitate cross-sharing within ASEAN and beyond to nurture top-tier talent. 4. Promote Sustainability: Harmonizing regulatory practices in line with environmental standards will ensure sustainable mining activities throughout ASEAN. Exciting times ahead as we pave the way for a collaborative and sustainable future in ASEAN's minerals industry! 🌐💎 #ASEANMineralsConference #MiningCollaboration #EconomicGrowth Special thanks to my colleagues Ying Wan Loh and Samantha Tan for the support in event preparation!

🇪🇺 🇮🇩 NICKEL: "EU faces green dilemma in Indonesian Nickel" (+ 3 VIDEO CLIPS) 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 Nickel is essential for the global transition to green energy, but mining often comes with environmental challenges, as was recently demonstrated in the case of an Indonesian mine. By 2050, the annual nickel supply will have to increase by 208%, and annual copper supply by 156% relative to 2020 production levels, if global net-zero emissions goals are to be achieved, according to a recent report produced by the World Bank's International Finance Corporation. At least another 15 minerals and metals must be extracted at similar rates to achieve climate targets, it added. This will be a monumental task. Some analysts reckon it simply isn't possible. Others question whether..... 👉 Article (+ 3 Video Clips): https://lnkd.in/d4EC52zV 🎯 TA RawMaterials: https://lnkd.in/d_Np2KpZ #nickel #indonesia #criticalminerals #electricvehicles #geopolitics #supplychain #renewables #mining #evs #eu #batteries

As a leading producer of graphite, lithium and refined copper, China has an increasingly dominant position in critical mineral supply chains. With the necessity for these minerals driven by advanced technology and renewable energy capacity, the country’s increasing control both domestically and internationally in regions like Africa raises concerns about diminishing access for Western nations and mining companies. #China #minerals #investment #politics

Yesterday, big news came out as we saw First Quantum Minerals with its new project coming in full-scale operation to give a huge commercial productive output demonstrating a clear testament of commitment about investment pledges that were premised on a conducive mining tax regime, and this further certify that Nickel and Copper will now roll out of this mining investment outfit. Enterprise Nickel Project of FQM comes up to full commercial production this business week, though the global market conditions on Nickel prices have lamentably dropped down amidst some massive expansions happening in Indonesia. Nickel compounds are so special mineral, that are widely used in varying forms of industrial processes such as electroplating, catalysts, batteries, and other fields, of which nickel sulfate, nickel oxide, and other common nickel compounds are amongst the commonly known substances whose economic value benefits industries in several applications. With the speedy advancements of the new electric vehicle market, the demand for nickel compounds is standing so strong and shows some levels of continuous improvements growing with a huge margin, thereby driving up the price of key commodities which includes nickel components. Zambia should escalate frantic efforts towards actualizing mineral diversification strategy! 🖊️ Kelvin Chisanga Read with passion🔗 #utuntuafrica #feelapartofus https://lnkd.in/d4ipvzAm
