Educating future brides is essential! And it's great marketing, too.
Way too often, we in the bridal industry are focus too much on pushing certain brands, collections or designs. Obviously making brides aware of what we offer is important as well.
However, if we want brides to have a truly great experience and associate positive emotions with us, we need to educate them as well. Most brides have no idea about how the buying process works, let alone the intricacies of the bridal fashion market.
This is a great example by Casablanca Bridal how to it.
No one knows bridal fashion quite like our Creative Director, Crystal Lu!
Our brides-to-be ask her for her expert advice all the time. That’s why we wanted to share her tips for making the wedding dress shopping experience an unforgettable one. 👌

Say yes to resale!!
Kleinfeld Bridal officially enters the resale arena. Kleinfeld’s is famously known for being the focus of TLC’s hit show “Say Yes to the Dress.”
This is a big deal because of their exposure – the magnitude of their reach is outstanding. With dresses for several different budgets, another player is saying, it’s OK to wear a dress that was preloved.
“The marketplace to buy and sell your wedding gown, with the most trusted brand in bridal.”
All gowns go through a thorough inspection to insure authenticity and quality. Each inspection is video recorded.
They don’t charge a commission on sales – instead, they charge a monthly listing fee.
Worldwide, 70%+ consumers plan to buy used goods this year with 86% buying or selling pre-loved items in the last 12 months (eBay 2024 Recommerce Report, May).
The secondhand market is projected to reach $276 Billion with a B by 2028 (Recommerce Report, 2023).
Would you or someone close to use buy a preloved wedding dress? What about my Gen Z network reading this?
P.S. I don’t consider myself extremely superstitious, but part of me is wondering, what’s the story of the woman who wore this dress before? Did she have a happily ever after? Will her vibes carry forward to me if I wear it – good or bad?

"The way you dress is a reflection of your attitude and your lifestyle." - Gianni Versace
These wise words from the legendary fashion icon Gianni Versace resonate deeply. Our clothing choices are not just about covering our bodies, but about expressing our personality, values, and way of life.
When you take the time to dress well, you show respect for yourself and others. You exude confidence, positivity, and attention to detail. Your attire can elevate your mood, boost your self-esteem, and even influence how others perceive you.
On the other hand, sloppy or careless dressing can convey a lack of effort, laziness, or even a negative attitude.
So, let's embrace Gianni Versace's philosophy and dress intentionally! Let our clothing choices reflect our best selves, our values, and our aspirations.
Remember, the way you dress is a reflection of your attitude and lifestyle. Make it a good one!

🗣️Don’t pitch the media blindly…
Last week, I got a pitch that said:
“Considering your interest in unique stories surrounding luxury bridal fashion, 2024 bridal trends, and tips for soon-to-be brides, I believe an interview with XXX would offer a fascinating perspective for your readers/listeners/viewers.”
But I don’t have an interest in bridal fashion stories.
A search of my station’s website would reveal that.
There’s a place for this segment at my station.
But I asked and the publicist didn’t pitch that show, its talent, or its booking producer.
Research is tedious, but not doing it drastically reduces the chances of your pitch getting press.
Check out my 5-Day Pitch to Press Challenge.

I break down pitches from my inbox and show you why they landed press or why they didn’t.

The Met Gala, the FASHION event of the year, the day and then the week where we all become experts in fashion (at the end of the day, we just comment what we like and what we don’t). The day where we finally get a fresh air of creativity and where we get the chance to dream, is also a day to make a statement.
I would like to see a report of the hours of labor, the cost of materials, logistics, flights taken and waste generated to support this event, as well as the benefits and revenues this event generates to the different brands. Is the Met Gala sustainable? Is it a win or a loss for brands? What’s behind THE event of the year?
In an industry where Haute Couture dresses are crafted for a one occasion only (the fashion show or a red carpet), I believe that reusing one of those dresses, bringing back the archives, the story of the brand, is a statement and solution.
While remaining sustainable and opting for not creating a new piece, with the cost, the hours and the “waste” generated, GIVENCHY and Kendall Jenner are leading and proving that the past can and will always make us dream of the future.

I would love to see the dresses! 🥰
