At Including Us in Tech, our vision is a technology industry that fully represents the diversity of the global community. We believe that having a multitude of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives at all levels will unlock innovation, drive better products and services, and create more equitable technological solutions. We are redefining where we belong in the tech world. For too long, people of color have faced systemic barriers and exclusion from an industry that shapes so much of our modern lives. Our mission is to change that narrative and open doors wide. We envision a future where people of color have equal opportunities to enter, grow, and lead in technology careers. Where they are actively recruited, included, invested in, and empowered to achieve their full potential. An industry where their voices are heard, their ideas are valued, and their contributions are celebrated as catalysts for progress. By spotlighting the incredible talents and accomplishments of people of color already succeeding in tech, we aim to inspire the next generation and create visible role models. At the same time, we are committed to creating pathways, mentorship, sponsorship, and tangible support systems to empower those pursuing careers in this vital sector. Achieving true inclusion requires an intentional focus on removing systemic barriers, providing access to training, education, and capital, as well as shifting mindsets across organizations. We envision companies, academic institutions, and community partners working together to redefine belonging – transforming tech into an industry that represents society’s rich diversity. Only by Including Us in Tech can we unlock human potential on a global scale and harness the fullest capacity for technological innovation. This is our vision – to redefine where we belong and empower people of color to shape how technology defines our shared world. Happy International Women’s Day to everyone! I am sharing this article on this topic from the SnapLogic blog because it really resonates with me and especially what the director my team is under, Namita Prabhu, had to say and thanks Namita for stating it and Gemma Smith for writing the story: "Don’t fall for gender bias “Don’t succumb to the gender bias perpetuated by society. Instead, concentrate on what you can accomplish and do it with excellence. Invest your energy in cultivating your strengths and consistently surround yourself with positive influences.”

In light of Women's History Month, Nicole Rossato, VP of Marketing at Colohouse, describes her experience in the digital infrastructure industry: "When considering women in tech, the phrases 'breaking barriers' or 'shattering glass ceilings' frequently come to mind. However, navigating male-dominated industries involves more than just breaking down walls; it's about constructing bridges in every direction. Establish yourself as a prominent resource for the C-Suite, ensuring they recognize your contributions and expertise. Strive to uplift those in your vicinity, fostering an environment of mutual success. As your career progresses, prioritize mentorship as a profoundly gratifying endeavor, and consistently revisit the bridges you've built to pave the way for those who follow, regardless of gender." Rossato's insights encourage us to establish ourselves as valuable resources, uplift those around us, and prioritize mentorship to build mutual success and partnerships. CEO Uhuru Botanicals & Cosmetic Formulation Academy | Speaker | Advisory Board Member for Women in Manufacturing
If someone told me 4years ago that I would be manufacturing my own products, I would have not believed them. The concept of manufacturing seemed distant to me. It appeared to be reserved for large corporations with expansive buildings and machinery. I didn't realise that the beauty products I made, packed and sold from my garage were actually manufacturing. I couldn't imagine being a manufacturer. We need to shift this perspective among young women. More needs to be done to engage with and inspire girls and women for the future of the industry. Some of the ways that can be fostered: - Don’t limit opportunities for young girls. - Give examples of women in all kinds of positions, including in leadership roles. - Hire female interns. - Mentor young women - Offer robust training. 📸 Monique in my garage, preparing the boxes for our first biggest order, for 2000 customers. It was overwhelming but exciting😊 **** My aim is to empower women, equipping them with expertise to formulate, produce and manufacture natural beauty products. This approach brings diversity in the beauty market and boosts female presence in manufacturing. Join / connect with me on this journey. #inspireinclusion #womeninbusiness #womenempowerment #womeninmanufacturing #manufacturingindustry #diversityandinclusion #naturalskincare
