On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we had the privilege of hosting Judith Schwartz, a second-generation Holocaust survivor. With courage and sensitivity, Judith shared her parents' harrowing experiences from the ghetto, their arrival at the Auschwitz extermination camp, and her own challenging personal experiences as a child of Holocaust survivors. Even though her testimony dealt with difficult topics, Judith captivated us with her infectious smile and heartwarming humor. As she eloquently stated, "Life is not worth living without joy and laughter." Thank you, Judith, for the strength you have given us during these difficult times 💛 Never forget. Never again. #HolocaustRemembranceDay #NeverForget #NeverAgain זיכרון בסלון - Zikaron BaSalon

Ask yourself, what would keep you from watching this? Powerful message.
“One in five young Americans believes the Holocaust is a myth.” As the son of a Holocaust survivor, this statistic is hard to stomach. We are failing the next generation if we don’t help educate young people on the past to inform the future. Although these stories are hard to hear, I feel a duty to share them. Especially as we witness a rise in antisemitism across our world today. In honor of Yom HaShoah yesterday, Holocaust Remembrance Day, please take a moment to listen to this firsthand account from my dad as he recounts his experience in the Dachau Concentration Camp. Please note the caption: Lubetzki should be Lubetzky

The greatest honour is to be able to sit alongside my great grandmother as she shares her harrowing Holocaust testimony. At 100 years old, she imparts her experience with the world, and I am proud to follow in her footsteps, educating others about the dangers of unchecked hatred and misinformation online. Marking Holocaust Memorial Day this year is perhaps more important than ever, given the unparalleled levels of antisemitism and racism. Please listen to and share this interview with Sir Trevor Phillips, where my great grandmother and I address all these issues and more, as featured on Sky this morning.

What do we think of when we remember the Holocaust? For this year's "Alfred Landecker Memorial Lecture," which always takes place on the occasion of Holocaust Memorial Day, the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford screened Jonathan Glazer's five-time Oscar-nominated film "The Zone of Interest”. The film provides a contemporary answer by showing how - and above all by whom - the genocide was made possible in the first place. Evil was in that sense banal, and the perpetrators were by no means all sadistic murderers without a conscience. In the panel discussion that followed, producer James Wilson appealed: "Just as we must not dehumanize the victims, we should not dehumanize the perpetrators either. Because that would mean we distance ourselves from them and succumb to the self-deception that we could never become like them."
