I had the strangest exchange with an investor yesterday who used Tegus' expert elicitation services to conduct a competitive tech assessment on us. This is business as usual for the ecosystem; I, too, routinely get inbound requests from such providers soliciting my input on various technologies for diligence purposes. Tegus interviewed an expert - an executive from a large pharmaceutical company - who talked about their trial with us and compared us against a couple of other companies they used (I wouldn't have picked these two as direct comps but I'll leave that aside for now). Here is the kicker: not only have I never met this pharma executive, we also never worked with this pharma group in any capacity let alone a full-blown trial.
Investors: do qualify your sources and references - this could have easily slipped for large companies operating in a large industry.
Wow! That's amazing
