In an effort to highlight the opportunities for early- and mid-career researchers (#EMCRs), as well as to identify the challenges that they face when engaging in #science-for-#policy work, SAPEA — part of the Scientific Advice Mechanism — has developed a #questionnaire to gather input from the research community based on their experience and training. Input is welcomed from any field of research and career stage. The finding will feed into developing the final version of the SAPEA strategy to engage more EMCRs in science-for-policy activities. While meeting with our U.S. researcher colleagues, Synergy Grants always generate the most interest among collaboration opportunities with Türkiye. Synergy grants allows researchers from the U.S. to work together with their Turkish counterparts. Our graduate students in US can be a bridge and consider other partnerships with Türkiye as well. About Synergy Grants: ''Synergy Grants may be awarded up to a maximum of EUR 10 000 000 for a period of 6 years. The maximum award is reduced pro rata temporis for projects of a shorter duration. This does not apply to ongoing projects. An additional up to EUR 4 000 000 in total can be requested in the proposal to cover (a) eligible ‘start-up’ costs for Principal Investigators moving to the EU or an Associated Country from elsewhere as a consequence of receiving the ERC grant and/or (b) the purchase of major equipment and/or (c) access to large facilities and/or (d) other major experimental and field work costs, excluding personnel costs. As any additional funding is to cover major one-off costs it is not subject to pro rata temporis reduction for projects of shorter duration. All funding requested is assessed during evaluation. Weave – Research funding without borders Jointly organised by the Fund for Scientific Research-FNRS (F.R.S.-FNRS) and the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) The bottom-up, cross-European initiative called Weave (https://lnkd.in/ePEn8uC6) was launched in December 2020 by European research funders to support excellent collaborative research projects across borders. By making proposals go through a single review process, Weave aims to simplify the submission and selection procedures of collaborative research proposals that involve researchers from up to three European countries or regions. Weave is implemented through existing, bottom up, funding channels for fundamental research (with the corresponding timelines and conditions) in the participating funding agencies. There are no additional restrictions on the thematic focus or subject. The information session aims to reply to the following questions: What is Weave, how does it work in practice? How can Weave facilitate scientific collaboration between researchers from the French-speaking community and Flanders? Which other bi- and trilateral collaborations are possible within Weave? What are the conditions, procedures and timelines to be followed? Look no further! The COST Action EuroCurvoBioNet is thrilled to announce its first call for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)! 🔍 What is an STSM? STSMs offer funding for research visits of at least 5 days, allowing researchers from COST countries or partners to immerse themselves in the expertise of institutes in other participating countries. With a maximum funding amount of €2,000, covering travel and daily allowances, it's an excellent opportunity to advance your research agenda while experiencing new cultures and perspectives. 🔍 Who Can Apply? PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, or permanent researchers already associated with the COST Action EuroCurvoBioNet or working on related topics are eligible to apply.
