Talking Mats is a tool for enabling people to reflect and express their views on a topic. Our team uses it with people of all ages for a myriad of purposes so people can give their views and have those views heard by others.
We have three Talking Mats Accredited trainers at Talking Trouble (I’m one) and we deliver the in-person and online foundation courses in partnership with TalkLink Trust. We’ve had psychologists, lawyers, teachers, whānau, youth workers, speech-language therapists, doctors, social workers and many others complete this training in recent years, and use it with children, youth and adults in very different contexts.
If you are interested, we have courses coming up and can run one wherever there are at least 8 people wanting to do it - just let us know if you want to do the training and we’ll organise it. The next one is 22 March in Auckland.

I have found this tool one of the most useful and well-used in my professional toolkit, and even when I’m not actually doing a Talking Mat, the framework and knowledge I gained from the training helps ensure people’s rights to communicate and be heard are honoured.
We love the theme for this year’s #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek - ‘My Voice Matters’

That's a great initiative! How do you plan to connect with #VTeam parents and share Jane's story?
