Working with the folks at Vermont’s only National Park - Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park - yesterday, the Vermont Adaptive team hiked to The Pogue in Woodstock as part of a partner collaboration with the Park through a National Parks Foundation Grant. The goals of yesterday’s assessments were to review the trails in order to increase accessibility and access for all abilities. Making a National Park accessible is huge and we’re excited to be a part of it. But that’s not all - mountain bike trail assessments continued yesterday, too! From hiking shoes to bikes, the team headed out on trails in Killington with the Killington Mountain Bike Club, Vermont Mountain Bike Association and the Kelly Brush Foundation for assessments on the Sherburne Trails and Gifford Woods Trails. As of this Spring, this collaboration of partners has assessed and improved nearly 90 miles of trails state-wide and can we share that they are adaptive accessible. For more information about accessible mountain biking in Vermont be sure to visit the Vermont Mountain Bike Association website for a full map and details. . . . #vmba #kbf #aMTB #accessibility #hiking #nationalpark #trailwork #partners #vtadaptive #adaptivesports #sportsforeverybody
