{Does your company have an experienced M&A attorney?} Hopefully the answer is yes. But just as importantly, does your company have an experienced employee benefits/executive compensation M&A attorney. M&A attorneys are highly specialized. Employee benefits attorneys are highly specialized. And benefits attorneys who truly understand the M&A process and related nuances are EXTREMELY specialized - and very rare. I love the M&A process and being able to advise on all employee benefits and executive compensation issues. From due diligence — to agreement review — to pre-closing — to post-closing. I don’t want to replace your M&A attorney. That’s not my wheelhouse. But I do want to work with you, your company, and your M&A attorneys on the key benefits issues. It’s a win-win. #employeebenefits #benefitsattorney #M&A #corporatelawyer #executivebenefits

A Tale of Paralegal Management in the Workers' Compensation Office: Navigating WC Trenches In the dynamic and often challenging world of workers' compensation, my journey as a paralegal and eventually as a manager has afforded me a unique perspective on the field's intricacies and the critical issues it faces. One of the most significant pain points I've encountered throughout my career is the high turnover rate among paralegals. This issue is not isolated to the firms I've worked in; it is a widespread challenge that many of my friends and colleagues have experienced in various legal settings. During my tenure, I observed a troubling pattern: as we interviewed candidates to join our firm, many were transitioning from other firms. Through these interactions, two primary factors emerged as common threads among their experiences: a lack of support and a feeling of being undervalued. Interestingly, these concerns were rarely, if ever, about the job itself. As someone who has navigated the trenches of workers' compensation law, I can attest to the role's emotional and mental demands. Our work involves delving into the lives of individuals at some of their most vulnerable moments, advocating for their rights and navigating a complex legal system to secure their medical and indemnity benefits. Recognizing these challenges, I was determined to address the root causes of turnover in our team. It became clear that to retain skilled paralegals and foster a supportive environment, we needed to implement changes that went beyond surface-level solutions. #LegalServices #ProfessionalDevelopment #FreelanceParalegals #nyworkerscompensation #injuredworkeradvocate

🚨 More than 100 people have already participated in Brightflag's 2024 Corporate Legal Operations Compensation Survey, and it only launched yesterday! 🚨 Link in comments to add your voice. Participating only takes 2 minutes and 24 seconds. That's a bathroom break! This is the third year in which we've running this survey in partnership with Legal Operators, and one thing has stood out each and every time: compensation is not correlated with job title. As proof that this trend is almost certainly continuing, I offer five open "Legal Operations Manager" positions that include base salary ranges. I'm not passing judgment on these opportunities, just observing that pay and title still have very little to do with one another: ⚡️ Caldera Care: $90k ⚡️ Connecticut State Colleges & Universities: $114k–$143k ⚡️ DEKRA North America: $60k–$70k ⚡️ Patreon: $145k–$196k ⚡️ Stability AI: $126k–$234k That's a lot of variability! #legalops #legaloperations #compensation #paytransparency

A Tale of Management: Navigating WC Trenches In the heart of a bustling city, a reputable workers' compensation law firm stood as a beacon for those in need of justice. The firm was well-known for its dedication, but it faced a persistent challenge that threatened its stability: high turnover among paralegals. This issue wasn't unique to this firm; it was a widespread problem in the legal industry, often met with a short-sighted solution by many law firm managers—prioritizing quick hires over strategic talent retention, a practice colloquially known as "butts in the seats." However, within the walls of this firm, a different mindset was brewing. The person responsible for managing the paralegal team recognized that merely filling positions was not a sustainable strategy. Understanding the complexities of workers' compensation cases and the emotional toll they could take, this manager knew that the true key to long-term success was nurturing a company culture that valued, supported, and inspired its employees. #paralegaldevelopment #nyworkerscompensation #injuredworkeradvocate
