🚀 Historic Milestone for the AWARE Center: THI and FAPESP sign an Agreement for International Research Collaboration in AI, Mobility and Energy Research! 🌎   🤝 Exciting news from Ingolstadt! During a prestigious visit, THI welcomed a high-ranking delegation from FAPESP and the State Secretary, alongside the Bavarian University Center for Latin America (Bayerisches Hochschulzentrum für Lateinamerika (BAYLAT)). The discussions, led by FAPESP President Prof. Marco Antonio Zago and State Secretary Prof. Vahan Agopyan, with THI President Prof. Walter Schober and institute leaders, set the stage for future breakthroughs in mobility, energy, and safety research.   💡 Spotlight on Innovation: Presentations highlighted THI's expertise in vehicle safety research, renewable energies, hydrogen research, and AI innovations by AImotion Bayern. This partnership is poised to push boundaries in AI for mobility and production technologies, energy technologies, vehicle safety research, advanced battery systems, and passive and active safety systems.   🌱 Seeding Future Success: A significant outcome of this collaboration is the earmarking of €200,000 for a joint research initiative expected for June.   🖋️ A Pact for Progress: The signing of a framework agreement paves the way for a fruitful partnership between Bavaria and São Paulo. This collaboration not only signifies a historic moment for our work but also promises substantial contributions to the fields of mobility, energy, and safety research. ⚡ High-Tech is breaking speed barriers with a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), through the SC Chicago Service Center. Their project focuses on the rapid sintering of multilayer all-solid-state microbatteries, a leap forward in battery technology. #BatteryTech #SBIR #STTR 🔋 Supported by the Small Business Innovation Research program, this project will run for 9 months, starting on July 22, 2024, and ending on April 21, 2025. Did you know? At VARTA AG, various transfer research programs are underway, funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (#BMBF) to establish a technologically sovereign battery value chain. But what exactly do they achieve? We leverage this collaborative platform extensively to develop innovative, high-performance, and sustainable energy storage technologies that set us apart from the competition! 🚀 We illustrated what all of this means in concrete terms to Ingo Höllein, Head of the BMBF department responsible for battery research, during his visit this week. After discussions with management about our development goals – and the challenges along the way – we toured the manufacturing facilities at the #Ellwangen, #Neunheim, and #Nördlingen sites. 🏭 In these factories, we develop and manufacture our lithium-ion products, which are used in various applications and contribute to enabling a more independent life – whether through mobile devices like #TWS headsets, powerful cells for us in #automotive applications, or modern decentralized energy storage systems that empower users to become their own energy producers. Some of you may be aware that I have a little book coming out soon - The Electric Vehicle Revolution from Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group. Well the book is not "just" electric vehicles ..... Chapter 8 is titles Tires, Tires Everywhere ...... Did you know that the world makes and throws away 2 billion tires per year? Bad for the environment? Yes! Can we do better? Also yes! The post below is from one of my favorite companies Monolith which is bringing to the mass market a pioneering technology to produce carbon black from natural gas with very low CO2 emissions. The post below celebrates the ongoing partnership with Mines Paris for R&D to develop and refine the process of methane pyrolysis. One of the visionaries behind this? Professor Laurent Fulcheri who published a paper in 1995 that this is theoretically possible....... 29 years later Robert Hanson, Bill Brady and the entire Monolith team has been #WillingToCommit to this #GearOfChange. To make this scalable the group has worked with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to develop and bring an automobile tire to market using this low C02 carbon black. #TransformingSupplyNetworks indeed. What an incredible event! I loved the combination of policy makers and scientists coming together to create positive change. Big thanks to Global Arena Research Institute for creating such an inspiring platform! A few things I took away from the event: 🔬 There is no applied science if there is no science to apply 🦋 AI has great trouble understanding theories such as the butterfly effect. So what does this mean for what we decide to use it for? 🔍 Not finding things is just as important as finding things 🃏 Predictions vs the unexpected (non-linear chaos). How can chaos theory help us find patterns and maybe predict the future?
