In almost a month from now on June 18/19th, 2024, it's my honor and pleasure to welcome so many of you to the 28th edition of the international "Automobil-Elektronik Kongress" in Ludwigsburg and worldwide through our virtual platform. As a slogan for this year's event, we selected: " SDV – From Hype to Realization – Bringing HW and SW Building Blocks Successfully onto the Road" Since the transformation of our industry into the age of the "SDV - Software Defined Vehicle" is often discussed at a strategic level, we in the advisory board have decided to focus this year on the very concrete, successful and sustainable implementation. An SDV is not just an end in itself! Its task is to implement an inspiring and always up-to-date portfolio of customer functions in an attractive and modern vehicle. And all of this in an efficient, sustainable and, above all, robust and reliable way. No software runs without appropriate electronic hardware. The semiconductor industry remains the key enabler for computing power but also for power electronics, sensors and actuators. The wiring harness and the physical on-board network continue to be one of the most important components in the vehicle. Both in terms of weight, costs but also in terms of quality and reliability. What real advantages does zonal architecture bring? Where are the limits of system integration on a single SoC with respects to the overall safety architecture? Why is a secure energy supply becoming increasingly important? How can we further improve and accelerate development processes with simulation in the cloud? What role does Open-Source play or what role can and should it play? How do we make even more use of the intelligence and power of partnerships and ecosystems? Where are the advantages and limitations of current AI technologies? How do we combine AI and safety? Isn't the pure focus on software not enough? Don't we have to take a holistic look at the entire system, safety and security? What best practices exist in successful transformation at the company level? On both days of the congress there will be a new block "Technologies to Watch" to put potentially important technologies on the radar screen. The 28th edition of our congress addresses all of these questions in a very concrete and practice-relevant form. As is usual and for our industry, of course across countries and regions on an international level. Together with the advisory board and the organizers, we have also further developed the format of the AEK. Let yourself be surprised! "Automobil-Elektronik-Kongress" remains to be THE "must be event" for networking at the highest level.
