For too many Sales-led SaaS companies price competition feels like the norm… What if it wasn't? Here's the issue: Average SaaS companies → Focus wide. → Sell the product → Try to be seen as better. Remarkable SaaS companies → Focus narrow. → Sell a desired outcome. → Aim to be meaningfully different. 3 simple differences that turn a vicious cycle of discounting into a flow of customers who are prepared to pay a premium.

Work out a rough plan for your product, and SEE IF PEOPLE WANT IT. They don’t have to pay £££ just yet. But if there's a reasonable notion of market demand… You’re onto a winner. So get going!

Where are all the ‘what SaaS brands can learn from Liquid Death’ posts at, come on you cowards

😒 Thursday moan: The way Saas products are marketed as only '$39' per month. But you can't pay per month, you have to pay annually. So that manageable $39 per month becomes $468 upfront. That form of positioning is simply deceptive and pointless, you may as well market it as just $1.28 per day. 🍆 Dicks.

So many brands stuck in the $1m-$5m range get hyper fixated on optimizing the stupidest things.  Downloading the latest SaaS or rebuilding your product page for the 37th time thinking it’s going to transform your business is just misguided (I was extremely guilty of this)  If you’re running into growth constraints at this level then you should focus on PMF, new products and/or dialing in a single growth channel that you can scale consistently and profitably with Thats it. 

Remember, as a founder your job is to find a way to help your perfect customer. Oftentimes you’re already doing that but capital would let you do even more of it. When time is of the essence, the last thing you want to do is waste time chasing capital. We don’t need convincing, we look at your metrics and then can get you capital the day after. Not just SaaS, any tech enabled company that can scale.
