Another day, another LinkedIn job post looking for a Social Media Manager who can juggle everything. Video editing? Check. Eye-catching visuals? Absolutely. Content writing that speaks to the soul of the universe? Naturally. But here's the thing: maybe, just maybe, before we throw all these responsibilities into one job description, someone could, I don’t know, take a minute to study what a Social Media Manager actually does. Hint: It's not just a "catch-all" for every creative task under the sun. Let's break it down, shall we? A Social Media Manager manages, well, social media. They strategize, schedule, engage with followers, analyze metrics, and stay on top of trends. They do NOT have time to single-handedly produce high-quality video content, design award-winning graphics, and write every blog post like Shakespeare’s ghost just took over their keyboard. Let’s all just go study the actual job titles, so we don’t continue this fun, wildly unrealistic hiring trend. Thanks.
