Shhh 🤫… did you know that one of Puerto Rico’s best kept secrets as a top employer is Plaza Provision Company. We do not self promote. So, I want to let you into our secret. Our CEO is one of the humblest and well-intentioned leaders you’ll ever meet. Our employee tenure average is at 26 years of service with many surpassing that. Our turnover is less than 3%. And yes, we promote from within for vertical and horizontal mobility and development. So, why do our employees stick around so long. For one, balance and quality of work and life. As California proposes a new bill, giving “Workers the Right-to-Disconnect from Non-Emergency Business Calls and Texts After Hours”, Plaza Provision already respects its employees’s free time. We know there is much more to life than just work and we want our employees to enjoy it. Our company culture is respectful and relax. And it doesn’t hurt that you can snack on the products we distribute during the day like Snickers, Oreo cookies and for the healthier pallet, Kind Bars with some ☕️. If you’re interested in knowing more about our company or career opportunities as we continue growing, check out our web page: https://lnkd.in/eF3f9924 😉.

Education doesn't always have to look so formal - PowerPoints, sitting in chairs, business casual attire...you can see it in your head right now, can't you? It can look like leadership getting creative. You can break up the many tools of success into bite-sized bits that are easier to absorb and remember. You can wear jeans, T-shirts, and even throw in the occasional letterman's jacket to up the cool factor. We recently held a Real Estate Fair at our office for a chance to change the pace while still offering quality education. We were excited at the turnout and heard from so many attendees that the fair not only taught them about real estate but that it energized and motivated them to get out into the field. It didn't take incredibly more time to plan than a normal workshop and the casual atmosphere made it easier for people to engage in conversations, ask critical questions, and pick the brains of some of our most talented team. We call that a win. #CreativeLeadership #RealEstateEducation #RealEstateFair #MotivatedMindset #EngagingConversations #TalentedTeam #BiteSizedLearning #QualityEducation #OWNYourGrowth #OWNFamily #CommunityOverCompetition

Did you happen to catch Shawn Gorman '84 on the Today Show recently? Read more about Shawn's time speaking with Al Roker, and watch the interview, in Shawn's post below!
I had the honor of spending an afternoon on the woodsy trails of NYC’s Central Park with Al Roker from the TODAY Show. I always get energy from talking about L.L.Bean’s history, values and Purpose – but there was something extra special about having this conversation while enjoying the restorative power of being outside in one of the world’s largest cities. Many thanks to Al and the TODAY Show team for helping us share the story of L.L.Bean’s outdoors heritage, commitment to high quality products and world-class service. My great-grandfather L.L. would be proud. https://lnkd.in/gg_HbUe5

If you are in real estate in Central Ohio there was a lot to celebrate this week: 1) A globally recognized manufacturing project, receiving federal support & securing a major new partnership, which brought renewed confidence to a generational opportunity. 2) A leading global employer declaring that culture is not a birthright- its something that need to be worked at & that the office plays a part in strengthening a company’s culture. 3)The Fed cutting it’s rate by half a point-calming some of the major headwinds facing developers & creating momentum to get back to building. And last but not least- the opening of Butcher & Rose for lunch service-which based on today’s attendance will be one of THE spot for a “downtown power lunch”. The future is bright!

Summer is coming….. I’ve spent a lot of time and energy connecting with folks who work in #manufacturing specifically those in Eastern Wisconsin. If you’ve been getting messages from me recently this post is for you. Summer is the perfect time to tell your employees you appreciate the work they do. It’s a great time to get everyone outside to breathe in some fresh air and feel some sunshine on their skin. I want to help you with that. Longhouse Sheboygan is taking orders for employee appreciation events for summer. We have: -Mobile Axe Lanes -Mobile escape room (outdoor capable) -Catering options from $14-18 delivered and setup -Bar options (to the extent my liquor license allows) We also have very competitive pricing if I do say so myself. A $50/person budget for a 100 person company could get you quite a bit. We are a small operation that’s been scrapping pretty hard to survive since we opened in Oct 2020, when Covid was at its worst. Our survival is a testament to hard work, and I learned my work ethic in Wisconsin - where we WORK. We work hard because not working hard hardly seems worth it. Your employees work hard because their is pride in a job well done. Hard work should make you tired. Hard work should make you hungry. My homemade meals for workers speak appreciation for craft. When you want to say thank you with food, drink, and fun I’ll work my hardest to make sure your folks feel it. I don’t know how not to.

15 years ago today, I walked into CloserStill Media for my first day with the business (don’t get excited, it’s not my last day just yet). That CloserStill office at that stage was part of a converted pig farm. There was about 10 employees in a fledgling business, and I had just left my perfectly stable job in the tech market to risk it in events. In the past 15 years, CloserStill has grown from about 10 people to approximately 700, with offices all over the world (none in a pig farm as far as I'm aware). We've gone from about three exhibitions to 120 worldwide and won a stack of awards in the process. A massive part of my working life has been for CloserStill, and I'm very proud of what we have achieved over the years. I believe we have stuck to many of CloserStill’s founding principles and we as a business have developed a shared belief into core values that for most of us have made CloserStill a great place to work. It's really interesting looking at the people around the business and thinking about those who have been and gone during that time. Whenever there is an industry event you can see the amount of massively successful people who have had CloserStill as part of their history. I’ll be honest...it doesn't suit everyone, but I am grateful for what the business has done for me, and very proud of the part CloserStill has played for others. So cheers to CloserStillians everywhere – past, present and future. You’ve made it a great innings for me so far and there’s plenty more action to come. #workanniversary #15years #closerstillmedia #proudmoment #cheerstosuccess #eventexperts #culture #longservice
