The students and veterinarians educated pet owners on the importance of preventive care and provided vaccinations for hundreds of dogs and cats. Look for more on this event in future posts. We are so proud of our team and this great example of how they exemplify our core value of SERVE.

Alongside vaccination, one of the best ways producers can prevent the spread of disease on-farm is by following a strict and robust biosecurity protocol. By limiting access to a farm, the spread of disease can be controlled much more effectively. Other biosecurity measures producers should follow include changing overalls and washing boots before and after entering a farm. To understand other biosecurity methods which could help prevent the spread of disease on-farm, speak to your MSD Animal Health veterinary advisor today. #ScienceOfHealthierAnimals #Biosecurity

Rachel Tidman from World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) gave a clear reminder of why canine rabies vaccine quality matters. Sub-potent “cheap” canine rabies vaccines are a dangerous and misguided cost cutting measure. Use of poor-quality vaccines will lead to high rabies incidence and jeopardize national control programs. WOAH’s practical guideline for national procurement of veterinary vaccines can help governments navigate procurement. This includes a list of high-quality vaccines – this list may not be an exhaustive list but it’s a good place to start with your procurement. https://lnkd.in/eDAYHhUS
