🚀 Taking NatSecTech on the Road! 🚀 Still buzzing about the visit to University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Oak Ridge National Laboratory last week. Incredible how much innovation is happening in Knoxville and the global impact they are having! 💡 Key Takeaways: 1️⃣ Fusion Energy: UTK-ORNL’s research into scalable fusion energy is groundbreaking, but significant challenges remain before fusion reaches the grid. 2️⃣ National Security & AI: The U.S. needs a national security structure designed for the AI/Information era. 3️⃣ Higher Ed Innovation: UTK is leading the way with customizable, stackable degree programs tailored to the future workforce. Ozlem Kilic is crushing it! 4️⃣ Supercomputing: We toured Frontier, the world’s fastest supercomputer, and reflected on the constant need to stay ahead in high-performance computing. Engaging with these institutions reminded us how critical universities and research hubs are to U.S. competitiveness. An amazing launch of the TECH INNOVATION CIRCLE where we are focused on building critical market intelligence and market engagement so we can accelerate commercialization and scaling of technology in public sector. I'm still pinching myself when I think about all the amazing people who joined the mission Michael Harrison (West Point), Tyrome Smith (Hacking 4 Defense), Elle Gahl (Regional Innovation Clusters), Conrad Hollomon (TechStars), Jae Yu (NDIA), Gavin Aydelotte (Ciscco), Professor Rob Handfield (NC State), Professor Thomas Kull (Arizona State), Professor Tim Laseter (UVA). The Tech Innovation Circle (TIC) provides an experiential learning program for leaders who want to accelerate technology adoption through improved understanding and engagement between government and commercial solution providers. The program includes three components: 1) Knowledge and learning of world-class market intelligence concepts 2) application of those on a critical project and 3) community engagement. The project focus will be on accelerating commercialization and scale by removing critical barriers and improving market intelligence. Two weeks ago, virtually everyone in our company—except for our team in Europe—came to my farm for an event called iDS Connects. They came in two waves of about 30 people, with one day in the middle when everyone was present. It was disruptive. It was chaotic. It was cold (for at least part of the time.) It was so worthwhile. Working with a distributed footprint of human capital is challenging, so bringing people together is crucial. One of the highlights was when we announced the winners of our annual core-values award (Mark Emil) and also our rookie-of-the-year award (Thi Lee). Mark is the leader of our discovery engineering group, and Thi is one of our discovery engineers. Both did an incredible job in the past year. As for converting our home into a conference center, we had chairs on the patio and we had workstations set up in the carriage house and in the basement so people could do client work while they were here. There were tents. Wednesday night, everyone was in the barn for the awards ceremony, a band, and a chef-cooked meal. There was also karaoke and poker. Working together is not enough to ensure true connections. It’s hard to believe October is nearly over, and what a fantastic Q4 it’s been so far! This time of year always brings a unique energy as we reflect on our achievements, explore new opportunities for growth, and plan for the exciting road ahead. From major conferences to strategic discussions for 2025, Q4 is always a pivotal time for us at CivicEye.   This year, we’ve seen tremendous success—expanding into new markets across the U.S., launching innovative products that advance our mission to strengthen communities and enhance justice, and growing our internal teams to better serve the criminal justice sector.   Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the privilege of meeting with law enforcement, prosecution, and court professionals nationwide, hearing firsthand about the incredible work they do every day. Our leadership team also gathered in Charlotte for our annual strategic planning summit earlier this month, and I’m continually inspired by those leaders who push our business forward. Their relentless pursuit of success, world-class service, and a client-first focus is core to who we are as a company.
