Late-stage ovarian cancer generally responds well to treatment - but it also often returns with a vengeance. In our latest Scientist on Stage blog (https://lnkd.in/eC-izt8c), Aarushi Caro from the lab of Damya Laoui takes you along the journey to develop a dendritic cell 'vaccine' that might prevent this relapse. Incredible work!

Silence may be golden, but when it comes to lung cancer, it's deadly. Lung cancer silently grows, leading to a high rate of death among men and women. At Jupiter Medical Center, we believe in early detection through low-dose CT lung screening for those at high risk. At #ESMO2024, the CLIMEDIN trial showcased long-term improvement of side-effects of advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients through their engagement in the CareAcross platform. In an analysis of the first 7 treatment cycles, up to 95% of side-effects improved by cycle 5 remained improved throughout (e.g. fatigue, nausea, anorexia, constipation). This is additional evidence of our impact on patients’ quality of life and clinicians’ workflows. You can read more about this prospective randomised controlled trial and our partners: https://lnkd.in/d4Tj6V96

The focus this year for World Lung Cancer Day is closing the care gap. FLHC is doing just that for Floridians. We use low-dose CT (LDCT), a short, non-invasive exam that can find over half of lung cancer at an early stage, compared to only about 25% without screening. Combining LDCT with artificial intelligence, FLHC is re-imagining lung health with effective, state-of-the-art screening.
