💡I have learned so much about creativity by working with other "creatives," especially graphic designers and videographers.
When you have the opportunity to collaborate with someone who has honed their beloved craft over years of practice, you get to see the world differently. 🌎 What a privilege that can be!
In the knowledge mobilization community, we often hear about the importance of acknowledging and embracing diverse "epistemological perspectives." But how often do we think to invite different creative perspectives into the process of designing an infographic or making a series of Instagram videos?
I'm not talking about outsourcing. I'm talking about genuine collaboration, the kind of partnership that surprises you, maybe even setting you a bit off balance in a productive way. If you take the right people with you on the journey, they won't just cart supplies for you, they'll help you define the destination and draw the map.📍
⛺️ On Wednesday, Aug 21, as part of the FREE KT CREATIVITY CAMP, I'll be speaking with two talented professionals: Tara Andrews, a graphic designer based in Halifax, and Alan Kong, a videographer who works in both New Brunswick and Ontario. I'll also share some of my experience as a writer, content creator, and creative director.
👩💻Here's how Tara describes what she does:
"I love that I get to transform ideas into visual art and designs that are shared and seen by people around the globe. Hearing the positive feedback clients receive from their customers about work that I created keeps my creative energy charged every day. Seeing brands succeed with confidence after a brand update keeps me excited to work on my next project!"
📹 And here's how Alan describes himself:
"Alan Kong is a creative force in the world of video production, with a passion for storytelling and a knack for bringing ideas to life through dynamic visuals. His entrepreneurial journey began during his university years thanks to the unique opportunity at Mount Allison, where he quickly established himself as a skilled videographer, leading to collaborations with notable clients like NHLCA and Toyota Canada.”
