The wildfires in the Los Angeles area sadden us. As a team of many fire scientists, ecologists, and foresters, last week we turned inward, wondering how we could contribute our own knowledge and understanding of data to get involved. An outcome of this reflection can be found in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/eGqTKp6n. Here, we analyze burn probability, housing density, ember load, and fire intensity datasets from our Pyrologix team to identify wildfire risk warning signs that existed in the Los Angeles area. The blog shares a forecasted analysis of where similar warning signs are prevalent in other communities across the Western US. We hope this data can get into the hands of more communities and land managers mitigating wildfires, motivating more preventative action. 💚
It's not about data. It's about executable information.
