Day-Ahead Scheduled Exchanges Calculation algorithm is changing.   As you probably know, day-ahead price coupling is performed by an algorithm [SDAC] called Euphemia. It is a calculation performed daily, involving all the market time units [MTU] of the next electricity market day.   As you also already know, from the 1st Jan 2025 the MTU switches from 60 to 15 minutes. As a rule of thumb, the day-ahead price coupling problems become 4 times larger and eventually more time-consuming.   One of the expected results of the SDAC algorithm is to provide a deterministic cross-border exchange: the so-called Day-Ahead Scheduled Exchanges. Indeed, there can be different routes to transport energy, i.e. when flow-based is involved or when different bidding areas have the same energy price.   In all these cases, an optimization algorithm is used to allocate and schedule the cross-border exchanges. The in-use algorithm minimizes a quadratic cost function. The issue here is that with the 15-minute MTU, the computation time could be not feasible with the scheduling of the electricity markets.   That's why ENTSO-E is considering a backup procedure that, solving a linearized cost objective function, can provide a reasonable exchange scheduling in time for the electricity market operations.   ENTSO-E has launched a public consultation on the methodology for Day-Ahead Scheduled Exchanges Calculation [DA SEC] to improve the performance of the Euphemia algorithm before switching the Market Time Unit resolution.   In my opinion, it could be useful to run as the first step the linearized DA SEC. In this way, a feasible solution is always available in a reasonable amount of time. False process sensor data can be catastrophic but are not adequately addressed

UNIQUE ... historically the problem with DEMAND RESPONSE DR is that the discounts are taken but when the call is made, the capacity doesn't arrive. $16M in DR funding has to be returned and only $6M fine? Companies can probably calculate that they'll come out ahead, pocket $16M for years and how many times are they held accountable?
