Video editing is a creative job where editors make many artistic choices. When managers micro-manage, they often question these choices, making the final product rigid and formulaic. This control stifles creativity, resulting in work that isn't original and doesn't engage audiences. Editors need freedom to try different techniques, styles, and pacing to create innovative content. Micro-management limits this, leading to a bland, uniform product. Constant oversight and criticism can demoralize video editors, leading to decreased job satisfaction and higher turnover rates. Creative professionals thrive in environments where they feel trusted and valued. Micro-management erodes this trust, making editors feel undervalued and disrespected. The lack of autonomy can also lead to burnout, as editors may feel their expertise and creativity are not recognized or appreciated.
