It’s almost time to go back to school! While many parents love to share photos celebrating their child’s first day of school, it’s important to be mindful of what we share online. So before you hit the “share” button, consider the following: ❌ Don’t include the name of your child’s school as this can reveal their location to strangers. ❌ Avoid sharing details about their grade or teacher, it’s best to keep these details private. ❌ Be cautious of uniforms or school logos that can identify where your child goes to school. ❌ Turn off location tagging on your posts to keep your child’s whereabouts confidential. ❌ Avoid sharing personal details like your child’s full name, address or identifying information. Don’t forget to share your own safety tips in the comments below. 👇Here’s to another great school year! #backtoschool #backtoschoolsafetytips #onlinesafety #staysafe #schoolsafety #heretohelp

Our friend Dannah Eve gets it! Before you post back-to-school photos online, consider these safety and consent tips: 1. Do you have everyone's permission to take and post the photo? Consent is key, particularly in group photos. 2. Are there location-identifying items visible in the photo (house number, school name/logo, etc.)? 3. Does the photo contain personal information about your, or any other children? Things like teacher's name, age and personal interests are better left in the group chat. 4. Have you recently checked your privacy settings and followers to ensure you're only posting to people you know and trust in real life? Learn how to take safe back-to-school photos, and why you should ask #PERMISSIONtoPost on our blog at the link in bio. Important Reminder: Student Safety in Back-to-School Photos// Dear Parents and Students, As we embark on another school year, we want to take a moment to emphasise the importance of safeguarding our students' privacy and security, especially when sharing back-to-school photos. What Not to Include: When sharing those proud moments of your child's return to school, please avoid including the following details in public posts: 🏡 House number or suburb 🏫 School name or logo 🧒 Child's name 🎒 Age or school year 🎾 Hobbies or specific hangout spots (e.g., sports clubs) For an extra layer of safety, consider sharing these special photos directly with those you trust instead of posting them publicly on social media platforms. Ensuring the safety and privacy of our students is a collective responsibility. By being mindful of the information we share, we contribute to creating a secure and supportive online environment for everyone. #CarmelCollege #MyAmazingStart #teachchallengetransform #BCESchools

⏰ Today is the day! ⏰ If your child is starting school in September, or moving from Year 6 to Year 7, and has an EHCP, today is the deadline for the Local Authority to issue an updated EHCP naming the setting they will be attending in September. 🫣 Not heard from the LA yet? 😵 Have they named a different school to your preference? 😬 Have they named a ‘type’ of school, instead of a specific setting? Get in touch, we can help! (Image description: a green background with white boxes which lead from one to the other. The title says ‘phase transfer’. The boxes then says: ‘is your child in year 6… do they have an EHCP… have the LA named a secondary school on the EHCP… is it the school you want… not sure? We can help!’ In the bottom right corner is our logo)
