Authenticity is what today’s traveler craves. The idea of luxury is changing, and so is hospitality. Guests are no longer impressed by gold-plated fixtures or extravagant lobbies. What they truly value now are experiences that feel authentic, rooted in the local culture, and connected to the community. As developers, we need to rethink what “luxury” means. It’s no longer about opulence. It’s about providing an experience that resonates on a deeper level. They seek out personal spaces, are more connected to their surroundings, and are less manufactured. We miss the point if we continue to design around outdated luxury ideas. It’s not enough to build for aesthetics. We need to build to foster connection. It’s a movement driven by the desire for deeper experiences, influencing everything from designing spaces to training staff.
