The Kroger Community Rewards Program provides financial support to CABVI based on the money spent at Kroger stores by members enrolled in the program. By linking your Kroger Plus Card and shopping at Kroger, you raise funds for CABVI while continuing to earn your own Kroger Plus points and rewards! This is an easy way to support CABVI, and if you have a Kroger Card, you are already halfway there! How to Enroll If it is the first time you are registering as a Kroger Card member you will need to set-up an account first. • Visit • Click “create an account” • Put in your email address and password. Confirm password. • Enter Plus Card OR Alt ID number • Go to Community Rewards (near bottom) • Follow through the steps. (name, address, etc.) • Put in the group number YJ453 or part of the name of the organization (Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired) • Choose CABVI as your selected organization. • Click Enroll. For a member to re-enroll your card, simply go to https://lnkd.in/eE8DTwB. • Click “sign-in” • Put in your email address and password that you used to enroll their card. • Put in the group number YJ453 or part of the name of the organization (Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired) • Choose CABVI as your selected organization. • Click Enroll. That’s it! Now, for every purchase you make, CABVI will receive a percentage of the money spent at no additional cost to you.

In December 2023 our city was hit by a devastating tornado event. More than 135 #smallbusinesses found themselves having to scramble to find new locations to keep operations running, dealing with insurance and landlords to rebuild, or having to close their doors altogether because their building was a complete loss. What many people do not realize is the domino effect of losing so many small businesses has a huge impact on the community. Business News Daily states it pretty well. "Although small businesses represent a considerable portion of the total U.S. economy, they are often forgotten by American leaders and consumers. Small businesses rarely make headlines in a way that highlights their economic impact, whereas news about large firms that highlights their size and impact abounds. Still, American small businesses create nearly two-thirds of American jobs and generate nearly half of the country’s economic output. Given the impact that small businesses have on the broader American economy, it’s critical to create a healthy environment for small businesses to operate. While larger firms’ economic impacts are more widely recognized, leaders shouldn’t give unfair advantages to a small number of businesses when small companies (even solopreneurs) account for a considerable portion of total economic output." How to Score a 3% USPS discount on your next nonprofit mailing. I learned this last week from Karen Burman, thanks for the tip! There is a USPS promotion during 2024 for nonprofits who utilize "Emerging Technologies" (read: print a QR code on your Outer Envelope). Note: I said in the video that this is a vendor discount - this is a direct USPS discount, so you can use it no matter who you mail through. Ask your print partner how to claim these free dollars! PS - I'm curious, do you know of verified testing on whether an outer envelope QR code depresses or increases engagement? The argument for getting a 3% discount goes out the window if there is a decrease in response rate / average gift / new giving conversions that outweighs your immediate savings. You don't want to save $300 now and lose $30,000 over the next 5 years. Are you going to claim this discount in 2024? Let me know why or why not!
