You've applied to job after job with no luck. Maybe you've even gotten some interviews, but no offers. You're starting to feel hopeless - is there even a job out there for you? Unfortunately, this is the case for many people searching for jobs right now. There is always competition in the job market, even during stable economic conditions. But with ongoing layoffs, fewer job openings, and plenty of candidates, hiring managers have become even more selective about who to place their bets on. They tent do bet on people they Know, Like and Trust. Luckily, there are specific actions you can take to increase your visibility, show your value to prospective employers, and ultimately land a job. Want to learn more? DM me now. 8 spots left in May.

Hiring managers if you tell a candidate that you will get back to them… you really should make every effort to do so. Trust me they would appreciate it good or bad. Here’s why.. 1. You have contacted them for an interview and they are genuinely excited for the opportunity to talk about a profession they know well and love. 2. They made sure to be available on your time and theirs because as job seekers our time is still valuable. 3. They just want to move on and telling them you will be in touch gives them hope whether it is closure or not. 4. And no answer isn’t an answer because it’s demoralizing and defeating. 5. Do not pass their resume to someone else because if you didn’t like them for your position the other person won’t either. Because you put a stigma around them unintentionally or not. We are humans with emotions at the end of our rope trying to look and feel confident every single day in the face of defeat trying to provide for our families. It doesn’t get any easier with each passing day because you want your children to be warriors in a world that is so unfair. And you want to teach them that they can do anything. And all it takes is a simple email thanking the candidate for their time and efforts and wishing them well. Because that will give them the little boost they need to keep it moving. Here’s to hoping you receive the offer you’ve been waiting for today with a company that values and respects you.

428 days of job applications, anticipating my last day while enduring 341 days without a paycheck. Amidst countless rejections and scarce interviews, my 3-year-old daughter innocently believes I'm an 'officer' because she hears it on TV. Despite the uncertainty, I ponder about the future: the company, the team, the learning opportunities. Yet, amidst it all, I find solace in the belief that God has a plan. If your team is hiring or you know someone who is, I'd appreciate any connections to recruiters or hiring managers. Here's to embracing the journey ahead with faith and optimism. #JobSearch #NewBeginnings #Openforopportunities

As a recruiter, I strongly feel that resume gaps should never be a 'thing'. There is way too much going on in the job market and the economy to penalize and pass over potentially amazing talent due to something as trivial as a gap in a one's career. As a recruiter, what you did for six months in 2019 while not working is none of my business. Plus, what's to say that we always have to be working. It's time we all start to normalize career gaps... And never punish candidates for having them.

I am excited to share that after navigating the challenging waters of job applications, I've been offered an awesome new opportunity! The journey was not easy — it involved sending over 65 applications, scheduling 5 interviews, and maintaining persistence through automated rejections. But statistics like an 8% application-to-interview rate didn't deter me; rather, they reinforced my drive. The key to breaking through was not just persistence but a proactive approach. I learned that reaching out directly to hiring managers or someone connected to the position can make a significant difference. It's a reminder not to leave your fate solely in the hands of automated systems. This experience reinforced a valuable lesson: recognize your worth, never give up on your professional aspirations, and sometimes, being assertively persistent is necessary. I'm excited about this new chapter and can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks! #militarytransition #jobsearch #veterans

Getting rejected from a role you really wanted can be tough but it's important not to let it derail you. Knock-backs can be a chance to gain feedback, refine your interview technique and build your professional network before putting yourself back out there. I shared my tips with Ellen C Scott at The Stylist Group on how you can recover and come back stronger. These include: 🔹 Asking for feedback: For each ‘no’ you get, request feedback on how you can improve for next time. 🔹 Staying positive: Remember that rejection happens to everyone, and it doesn’t define you. You’ve had success before and you will again. 🔹 Keep networking: Building and maintaining relationships within your industry can open doors to new opportunities and keep you informed, and LinkedIn will show you if anyone in your network is hiring. #LinkedIn #Careeradvice https://lnkd.in/eD9xXsUc

The best thing I can do for my career right now? Pause. A layoff can still sting like a rejection, even though it opens you back up to a world of opportunity. I’m taking a beat to ask: - What was a pleasure at my last company? - Where were the pain points? - Which of those things are in or out of my control? - Which of those things can I identify in the interview process? - What is the goal (besides employment) of my search?

My friend got rejected for a job that she loved. It killed her confidence. She started doubting herself. Questioning whether her experience and skills were good enough. I was shocked; I know this person is incredible at her job! The hiring manager (interviewer) just didn't see it. Look getting rejected hurts. But it's still just one person's opinion. To whoever is reading this: Never let someone else's opinion of you determine your self-worth; believe in yourself no matter what! The right opportunity will come. The right person will see your worth. (Repost this ♻ confidence booster for others)

You know your worth and what you’re capable of better than any recruiter, interviewer, or hiring manager. Don’t let their limited opinion affect how you see and value yourself. Let it drive you. Let it motivate you. Let it light a fire under you. But don't let it discourage you. At least, not indefinitely. I was laid off last year too. I applied to 750+ jobs before one stuck. I had hard days, and discouraging days too. But I never let a rejection define my worth. You have value. Regardless of your employment status. Or your number of rejections. You have value.
