Resharing information about our Let's Talk Disability (note not 'about' Disability but to people who are Disabled). The aim of these is to open up discussion about the lived experience of disability, and create action that leads to change. On each episode I host a senior leader at the university who talks to a member of staff or postgraduate researcher who has lived experience of Disability. At the end of the episode I ask them each to ask the other a question. This creates a list of one-things that I will go back and follow up - to see how we are creating a more disability-inclusive environment. I know we have a lot to do but there is a tremendous willingness for these conversations and I am already witnessing change happen. On National Disability Independence Day, we celebrate the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and we acknowledge that there is an ongoing need to increase accessibility. We know that the world we live in is not designed for people with disabilities. As physical therapists, we got into this field to offer personalized care that helps improve mobility, strength, and overall well-being, both for people with injuries or ailments and for people who have disabilities. Therefore, today, we ask that you join us in asking our legislators to continue to push to make our cities more handicap accessible. Simply go to https://lnkd.in/ewKRfdxg and ask them for their help in making Massachusetts be livable for everyone. . . . . . . #FlexPlus #PhysicalTherapy #PT #Pain #PainFree #LowCost #HighQuality #Natick #MetroWest #fyzical #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay #Independence #Inclusion
