IRS: San Diego area taxpayers impacted by severe storms, flooding qualify for tax relief; various deadlines postponed to June 17 California conforms to IRS disaster postponement (02-27-24) The Franchise Tax Board has confirmed that California will conform to the IRS’s storm-related disaster postponement announcement for San Diego County taxpayers, IR-2024-51. (FTB News Release (February 27, 2024)) The FTB’s announcement noted that the postponement includes passthrough entity elective tax payments due on March 15, 2024. For any given Emergency Measure or Major Disaster Declaration that triggers IRS tax relief or filing/payment postponement in California, the state will evaluate each filing or payment postponement in response to a declaration or emergency on a case-by-case basis. (R&TC §18572)
