It might be the middle of winter, but job seekers are feeling the heat.
It's hard to read about the 25K+ workers laid off since the start of the year and NOT have pangs of anxiety rush in.
Many are concerned about their chances of landing a job amidst the already fierce competition.
Though companies are slightly optimistic again with the start of the new year in their hiring projections, these opportunities continue to attract hundreds - 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 - of applicants to much dismay of those in search of that next role.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗺 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀
In coaching sessions I’ve had these last few months with my clients, some common themes have emerged:
🚩*𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀 - 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁?
Recent layoffs and the possibility of more to come weigh on people's minds. And even beyond that… they want to know - 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙢𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩?
🚩*𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Another hot question I hear is…”𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙟𝙤𝙗 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙩𝙤𝙤?"
🚩*𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
And finally, the third question that comes up is 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀, 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 — 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 $𝟭𝟬𝟬-𝟮𝟬𝟬𝗞 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱. People want to know just how should they answer these questions when asked about their expectation in pay?
If you’re thinking, “Dang, these are good questions. Where can I get answers?”, you’re in luck!
