The Olympics have always been a stage for excellence, innovation, and global unity. As we look towards Paris 2024, it's inspiring to see the diverse talents and relentless determination of athletes from around the world. This spirit of excellence resonates deeply with the ethos of the Indian leather industry, where craftsmanship, quality, and heritage come together to create products that stand the test of time. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Just as athletes push the boundaries of human capability, our artisans continuously innovate, blending traditional techniques with modern designs to meet global standards. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The Olympics exemplify the power of global collaboration and cultural exchange. Similarly, the Indian leather industry thrives on collaborations that bring together the best of Indian craftsmanship and international design sensibilities. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆: The legacy of the Olympics is about more than just medals; it's about inspiring future generations. In the same vein, we are committed to sustainable practices that ensure our craft continues to thrive for generations to come. As we celebrate the Olympic spirit, let's also acknowledge the artisans and craftsmen whose dedication to their craft mirrors the dedication of these world-class athletes. Together, we are crafting a future of excellence and innovation. #Olympics2024 #IndianLeather #Craftsmanship #Sustainability #Innovation #GlobalCollaboration

As we are now all tuned in to the action as the world’s top athletes compete for glory in the #Paris2024ParalympicGames, I look back on one of my greatest moments in the #Rio2016Games: the launch of the Paralympic emblem. Created by Tátil Design , the emblem was a multisensory brand that beautifully expressed the core values of the #ParalympicMovement: courage, determination, inspiration, and equality. The design captures an athlete’s journey of pushing beyond their limits, growing and evolving with determination. The emblem’s sculpture pulses with infinite energy, uniting body, mind, and heart, reinforcing the powerful message that we are all equal on the inside. The essence of the Rio 2016 brands was passion and transformation, and for a branding professional, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing your work connect with people and deliver real value. One of the most touching moments of my career was when Adria Santos, a sprinter and Brazil’s most decorated Paralympic athlete with 13 medals, had an unscripted moment with the brand. She felt the heartbeat and the energy of the cheering crowd, and, overwhelmed with emotion, she started crying. She said it was the first time in her athletic career that she could interact with a brand that truly represented her. No one could hold back the tears—cameramen, photographers, everyone in the room, including me, were all crying together. This experience was a powerful reminder of how brands can move people. Just like the Paralympic athletes – constantly pushing forward, never giving up – brands have the power to inspire, connect, and create moments that resonate deeply with us. #ParalympicGames #Branding #Rio2016Brands

Building an end-to-end supply chain for a major event such as the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024 is a massive challenge. Normally our team of product and operations experts work tirelessly and unnoticed, happy to be the behind-the-scenes problem solvers, the makers of unseen miracles. But sometimes it's nice when these achievements are recognised. After a year of working on circular economy solutions, we are proud that the French press have recently taken a big interest in this fascinating project. At each Games, we try to innovate even further in terms of sustainable sourcing and Paris 2024 is undoubtedly the project that has taken us the furthest. For the first time, RGS Events will be supplying sofas made from old mattresses, coffee tables made from recycled badminton shuttlecocks, beanbags made from parachute canvas and chairs made from recycled bottle caps. These products - all Made in France - will be at the centre of the village, at the centre of the Games, when the whole world watches Paris. The countdown clock is ticking fast now and RGS Events are thrilled to be a part of these amazing Games. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮? For the next two and a half weeks, the world will be captivated by the Olympic Games, and at the heart of it all is one of the most iconic logo marks in history. The simple yet extremely recognizable Olympic logo has become a universal symbol of pride, accomplishment, unity, and perseverance. The Olympic Games have ancient roots, but the logo we know today was developed in 1913 and was formally introduced at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium. Designed by Pierre de Coubertin, the five interlocking rings symbolize the union of the five inhabited continents and the meeting of athletes from around the globe. This logo is an example of timeless design. Its elegance and simplicity have ensured its enduring relevance, representing not only the Olympic spirit but also the broader ideals of global unity and the pursuit of excellence. For athletes, the Olympic rings represent years of dedication, hard work, and the ultimate dream of competing on the world’s biggest stage. As we watch the Games unfold, take a moment to reflect on what these rings mean. They are more than just a symbol of sport; they celebrate human potential, international camaraderie, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. Whether you had Olympic dreams as a child or your first Olympic memory still inspires you, the Olympic rings remind all of what can be achieved with dedication and unity. Here’s to the athletes, their stories, and the timeless symbol that continues to inspire. [Image: Whistler, 2018 - Ironman Canada. The value of testing, understanding and improving the products you create before asking the end consumer to pay hard earned money for them cannot be underestimated. Especially when those products are intended for high performance activities. Love this example of Rab and their partners taking time out to experience their product first hand. #testandlearn #productexcellence

🏅 The Evolution of the Olympic Gold Medal: A Reflection on Value and Innovation 🏅 Did you know that the Olympic gold medal used to be *pure gold*? In 1908, the medal awarded to champions was 100% gold. Fast forward to 2024, and the gold content has been reduced to just 1%. What does this change signify? 🤔 Value: The perception of value is shifting. While the physical gold content has decreased, the symbolic value of winning an Olympic gold remains priceless. It's a reminder that sometimes, what something represents can be more important than its material composition. Sustainability & Innovation: The reduction in gold content also highlights the move towards sustainability. The modern medals are crafted with an eye on reducing waste and utilizing recycled materials—an innovative approach in a world that increasingly values environmental consciousness. As we celebrate the athletes who will compete for these medals, let's also appreciate the story behind the medal's evolution.
