From 2-3 children begin to understand more complex themes. When choosing toys for this age, focus on basic problem solving toys like simple puzzles (including locks, latches and shapes). This is also a great age to encourage pretend play with kitchen sets, doctor kits, dress up clothing, etc. At this age, children are using play to explore the greater world around them and will often act things out they see or experience. "All working parents struggle with the same pressures!” I hear this sentiment a fair amount. And just as a parent… I do slightly disagree. We shouldn’t lump everyone together under one heading — doing so fails to account for so many nuances. Let’s remember: - 1 in 8 households in the UK don’t have access to green space. - 1 in 3 British parents are struggling to afford childcare. - Over 1.5 million children have SEN. In fact, dig down into the detail, and it’s clear parents face very different pressures depending on income, disabilities, and many other factors: Do you live close to a grandparent who can help with childcare? Are you looking after one child or more? Are mum and dad together? These things aren’t just small considerations. They make a world of difference to daily parenting stress levels. And we should accept that. Do other parents agree?

It's easy to brush off a child's behavior as attention-seeking, but there's often a deeper need at play: connection. 🤔Remember: All children crave connection. When a child is seeking attention, it might be because their connection needs aren't being met. Here's what you can do: 🔶Put down your phone and give them your full attention for short periods throughout the day. 🔶Engage in their play. Even 10 minutes can make a big difference. 🔶Validate their feelings. Let them know you see and hear them. 🔶Offer positive reinforcement for good behavior. By understanding the root cause of their behavior, you can build a stronger, more positive relationship with your child. #parentingtips #parentingtips101 #childdevelopment #childdevelopmenttips #childcare #attentionseeking #ConnectionSeeking #behaviormanagement #emotionalneeds #childparentbond #positiveparenting #positiveparentingtips #parentalcontrol #kidsbehavior #Safes

‘According to a survey from Pregnant Then Screwed, 45.9 per cent of parents in England with a child under the age of five said they had accrued debt or had to withdraw money from their savings to pay for childcare – a 30 per cent jump from 35.2 per cent last year.’ How can we help? As someone who may well be of this age group? Maybe this profile? Or perhaps you have total empathy & awareness with all those around you; irrespective of age, circumstance or generation? Good, waves of impact can be made? The counter option is that you are not of this age group or profile of parenthood? Understandable given years, stats or status? You’re now aware. Or could someone have absolutely no interest or understanding of the world or plight of others? Young parents - not my concern! It’s possible? Unthinkable perhaps? Sadly the ‘unthinkable’ happens in this wayward world from time to time? Recent news headlines tell us so. Entitlement is a world wide phenomenon that we meet every day. Life is full of choices don’t you think? So how could we help?
