Village of New Lenox’s Post

We are so pleased that Mayor Tim Baldermann was honored at Silver Cross Hospital's Childerguild Ball on November 18th. The Mayor received the 2023 Sangmeister Medal of Excellence which is bestowed upon a leading citizen recognized for competence, service, and dedication in a field other than healthcare that contributes to the common good.  Mayor Baldermann is serving his fourth term and was voted as Best Mayor in 2022 Southland’s Best. Under his leadership, New Lenox has received the Governor’s Hometown Award, Safe Community Designation from the World Health Organization and National Safety Council, best municipality, one of the best places to live, and best festivals for Christmas in the Commons.  The Mayor was also instrumental in bringing the Silver Cross replacement hospital and Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital to New Lenox and surrounding communities. In addition to serving as Mayor, he is the Superintendent of the Union School District 81 in Joliet and the former Police Chief for Chicago Ridge. Mayor Baldermann has never wavered from having the best interests of the community at heart. We are elated that he received this recognition.
