Sharing with you some interesting insights from a report on Sports And Physical Activity (SAPA) in India driving towards the ambitious goal of becoming a Viksit Bharat 1. Imagine if everyone in India got involved with SAPA by 2047! Our country's GDP could boost by over INR 15 trillion each year. 2. SAPA is a great way to cut down on productivity losses from illness and absenteeism, helping save us more than INR 2.5 trillion! 3. Active kids tend to earn more money as adults. Just think, each child who stays healthy and avoids obesity could earn an extra INR 120 lakhs over their lifetime! 4. Getting involved with SAPA can really improve our physical and mental well-being. It could even help lessen healthcare costs by over INR 30 trillion (USD 390 billion) every year! 5. With more people embracing an active lifestyle, we can expect a surge in spending on sports, potentially reaching INR 4.5 trillion each year by 2047! Did you know that over 200 million Indians are classified as inactive based on WHO recommendations? They suggest that adults should get at least 150 minutes of activity each week, and kids and teens should aim for 420 minutes! Fun fact: I’m one of those 200 million! 🙃 It’s really time to start investing in SAPA! Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous India. Let’s make this a priority for our nation! #ipl #pkl #sports #YKS #india #sportstech

🇮🇳 Celebrating 78th India Independence Day today. Reflecting on the evolution of brand strategy and brand building in India since independence. The Evolution of Brand Strategy in India - 1947 - The Early Years - Brands like Amul India and Tata Group were built on trust, reliability, and national values. Amul’s “Utterly Butterly Delicious” campaign became iconic for quality, while Tata represented integrity and growth. 2024 - The Modern Era - Today’s brands like Royal Enfield and Hidesign embody innovation and cultural relevance. Royal Enfield’s classic motorcycling legacy appeals globally, and Hidesign merges traditional craftsmanship with modern design, gaining international acclaim. Then vs. Now 1947 - Amul and Tata focused on trust and consistency, meeting the immediate needs of a newly independent nation. 2024 - Modern brands like Royal Enfield and Hidesign emphasize innovation, emotional connections, and blending tradition with contemporary appeal. Key points that have worked for the brands over the years - 1.Adaptation to Change - Evolving with consumer preferences and technology. 2.Emphasis on Innovation - Combining tradition with modernity. 3.Consumer Engagement - Building emotional connections and leveraging digital platforms. 4.Cultural Relevance - Aligning with cultural values. 5. Global Ambitions - Achieving global presence through innovative marketing. As we celebrate this Independence Day, let’s honor brands that have shaped our global identity. #IndependenceDay #IndiaAt78 #BrandStrategy #Marketing #Innovation #Growth #IndianBrands #BrandBuilding #IndiaIndependenceDay #15thAugust

India did not disappoint me at the #Olympics this year. Here's why: - 6 medals (7 if the CAS is fair and withholds the appeal) is one of India's best returns ever - Highly competitive across categories but unlucky in the final stages - Improved performance by female athletes It's not fair to say that with a billion plus people, India should earn more medals. People forget that India is still a poor country. The GDP per capita is ~1/10th that of the US even on PPP terms. People forget the high levels of income inequality here. There are real problems to solve in India and sports achievement is just one of them. But I am optimistic - the improvements we have seen make me so. There is so much to do and there are so many people doing it. Just cut us some slack. Be patient. Give India time. The future is bright. PS: This applies to business as much as it does to sport. PPS: My favourite moment was when Pakistan ended its 30-year medal drought with a record-beating throw by Arshad Nadeem. He *single-handedly* changed Pakistan's sporting history. Great work.
