SUPPORT FOR MOTHERS IS ESSENTIAL Breastfeeding has to be learned and many women encounter difficulties at the beginning. Many routine practices, such as separation of mother and baby, use of newborn nurseries, and supplementation with infant formula, actually make it harder for mothers and babies to breastfeed. Health facilities that support breastfeeding by avoiding these practices and making trained breastfeeding counsellors available to new mothers encourage higher rates of the practice. To provide this support and improve care for mothers and newborns, most countries have implemented the WHO-UNICEF Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative, which sets standards for quality care. #WBW2024 #TogetherForMoms #closingthegap #worldbreastfeedingweek #BreastfeedingAwareness #supportbreastfeedingmoms

Despite these benefits, many mothers face challenges that can make breastfeeding difficult, such as lack of proper support, societal pressures, and misinformation. This week is #WorldBreastfeedingWeek and the theme is 'Breastfeeding Support for All.' This theme highlights the importance of providing comprehensive support to breastfeeding mothers and their families by creating an enabling environment where breastfeeding is encouraged and supported, where accurate information is available and accessible, and where community networks and support healthcare services are in place. This #WorldBreastfeedingWeek, let's raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and support for breastfeeding mothers. #BreastfeedingAllies

Research consistently shows that lactation consultants are crucial in improving breastfeeding outcomes. Mothers supported by lactation experts are more likely to continue breastfeeding longer and encounter fewer common issues, such as nipple pain or low milk supply. Lactation consultants educate and empower new mothers, fostering a healthy breastfeeding bond that benefits both mom and baby. Seek personalized guidance for better health outcomes. The Restful Pump Chair® understands this well. It's made to work with lactation consultants by providing assistance and ease during breastfeeding, improving moms' overall experience. Happy World Breastfeeding Week! As we wind down the celebration of this year’s World breastfeeding event, and celebrate the power of breastfeeding, let’s not forget the importance of education and support for women in low-income communities. Primary healthcare plays a vital role in empowering these women with the knowledge and resources they need to breastfeed successfully. Did you know that in many low-income communities, breastfeeding rates are significantly lower due to lack of access to education and support? Primary healthcare providers can bridge this gap by: -Providing continuous training for midwives, nurses and community health providers -Providing accurate information and addressing concerns about breastfeeding -Offering one-on-one support and counseling -Connecting new mothers with local resources and support groups -Advocating for policies that promote breastfeeding-friendly environments Let’s work together to ensure that every mother, regardless of her income or background, has the opportunity to breastfeed and reap its numerous benefits for herself and her child. Share your own breastfeeding experiences and tips in the comments below! #Bogfoundation #WorldBreastfeedingWeek #PrimaryHealthcareMatters #BreastfeedingSupport #LowIncomeCommunities #MaternalHealth #GlobalHealth”
