A passport for every continent, a life without borders. This quote captures the idea of having multiple passports, signifying the freedom to travel and live in diverse parts of the world without restrictions. Key points about having multiple passports: Global mobility: The ability to easily travel and work in different countries without needing visas in many cases. Cultural immersion: Access to different cultures and experiences due to multiple citizenships. Family heritage: Sometimes, having multiple passports can be linked to ancestral ties to different countries. Yes, the U.S. does allow for triple citizenship and does not require naturalized U.S. citizens to give up citizenship in their home country or other countries. ✨🤲🏼AMEN🤲🏼✨ IN SHAA ALLAH🙏🏼GOD WILLING

Interesting view of inbound tourists to Australia! Singapore and Indonesia made the top 10 in the 2023-2024 period. Did you know Southeast Asia is projected to have 181 million outbound travelers by 2040, quadrupling 2022 levels? The Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 suggests we have a huge opportunity to expand tourism from this fast-growing region right on our doorstep. One of the report's key recommendations is enhancing tourism promotion and building industry capability to warmly welcome Southeast Asian visitors. By acting now, we can secure a larger share of this booming market. The economic and people-to-people benefits will be immense as we strengthen bonds with our closest neighbors!

Fantastic animation from the ABS showing the economies from which short term visitors to our shores come. Interesting to see the change over 40 years including the impact of changes in Japan’s economy, the growth of #SoutheastAsia and #India and the consistency of #NewZealand. Diversification of markets helps build resilience and opportunity with the Australian Government’s work on expanding trade, markets and relationships in our neighbouring regions. Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) has been pleased to be part of this work through the Invested 2040 Strategy: https://lnkd.in/gJU8GQ36 The National Visitor Economy Strategy THRIVE 2030 has #Diversification as a key theme along with #Modernisation to support #Tourism operators in meeting travellers’ needs: https://lnkd.in/gduA5_9T If you’d like to see more #Traveller data check out Austrade’s Tourism Research Australia dashboard and PDF called Visitor Economy Facts and Figures: https://lnkd.in/gicMdTJk 🙏 to everyone working to support the #VisitorEconomy in Australia which was worth $213 billion in 2023-2024 (when long stay international students are included).

A good 40 years summary. (I recall industry celebrations in the early 1980s when Australia achieved one million international arrivals for the first time). 'In the 1980s, international tourism increased markedly – people were starting to travel to Australia in large numbers, for leisure purposes. It was driven by the sudden availability of relatively cheap flights. That, in turn, was due to the passing of the 1970s oil shocks, the introduction of large‐capacity aircraft (like the Boeing 747) on routes to Australia, and the floating and subsequent depreciation of the A$. This influx of demand resulted in somewhat haphazard development, speculation and a boom‐bust volatility in tourism‐related investments. Some investors in tourism developments were burned, and some tourists had poor experiences. Tourism statistics and forecasts were fairly limited. There were some volume‐based metrics ... The lack of good data probably fed into the low‐yield high‐volume approach to tourism in the 1980s - such as cheap package tours' (Extract from: Productivity Commission research paper: Australia’s international tourism industry Submission by Tourism Australia 28 November 2014)

Did you know that none of the six U.S. consulates in Canada have available tourist visa appointments before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup? The United States is poised to host two major global sporting events in the next four years: the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics. However, long delays in visa processing could severely limit the number of international visitors able to attend, diminishing the anticipated economic impact of these global events. In my latest piece for the Niskanen Center, I lay out the economic benefits of hosting global sporting events, and how visa delays threaten anticipated sports tourism in the U.S. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/e7heG5YB #worldcup #olympics #visas

✈️ 🏅 ✈️ The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris are set to deliver a sizeable, but short-lived boost to French international #airtravel. Growth in international air #travel to Paris (see the blue line in the #WeeklyChart below) has lagged that of other major European cities (red line) so far this year. However, air ticket booking information shows that the #Olympics reverse this trend, if only for the last week of July and the first week of August. International air travel to the French capital is clearly impacted by the Olympic Games, with ticket sales running between 10% to 50% above 2023 bookings immediately prior to the opening ceremony and at the start of the athletics program. At the same time, growth in international air travel to other major European cities remains relatively stable. #Paris now outpaces sales to these other European cities by up to 30 percentage points. At the end of the Olympics, international ticket sales to Paris return to around 2023 levels while international bookings to other European cities increase, indicating that some travelers may take the opportunity to continue exploring the continent after leaving Paris.
