Tallinn Airport is one of the participants in the BSR HyAirport project - an international initiative that works on the preparation of airports for hydrogen in aviation in the Baltic Sea regioon.   Margarita Burunova, the project manager for BSR at Tallinn Airport is confident that the hydrogen initiative directly supports the sustainability goals of Tallinn Airport by providing an alternative fuel source that complements our decarbonisation plan „By adopting hydrogen technology, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint, improve air quality, and set a benchmark for other airports to follow. Stavanger to host the world’s first electric flight route! ✈️⚡ From August 2025, the first electric flights will connect Stavanger and Bergen, making Stavanger Airport Sola one of the first hubs for electric aviation globally. This marks a significant step toward reducing emissions in short-haul aviation, with the West Coast leading by example in testing and implementing green technologies. The route, powered by BETA TECHNOLOGIES’ electric aircraft and operated by Bristow Group Norway, will initially focus on freight and testing, paving the way for passenger flights in the future. As Harald Minge, CEO of Næringsforeningen i Stavanger-regionen notes: “The West Coast is setting an excellent example in the green transition. Electrifying aviation is essential for the region, which aspires to be a hub for renewable technology development and reduced emissions.” The development of electric aviation presents unique opportunities for collaboration on innovative solutions such as charging infrastructure and sustainable technology, reinforcing the region’s position as a leader in green innovation. What energy mix for vehicle fleets of tomorrow ?

Equans is building a sustainable future for Schiphol Airport. ✈️ Our Dutch team has been a long-term partner of Schiphol Airport since 2011. Schiphol Airport covers an area of 29 million square metres. We manage all the electrical, mechanical and control installations in the terminals, piers and various ancillary buildings. Equans is also contributing to the decarbonisation roadmap through Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES). This huge geothermal project saves Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport 1.5 million m3 of natural gas per year. 🌱 With the implementation of heat pumps and advanced cooling systems, we've achieved a 40% energy consumption reduction at Pier G. Our eco-friendly alternatives to aircraft Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) also significantly cut CO2 emissions.
